प्र वः पान्तं रघुमन्यवोऽन्धो यज्ञं रुद्राय मीऴ्हुषे भरध्वम् । दिवो अस्तोष्यसुरस्य वीरैरिषुध्येव मरुतो रोदस्योः ॥

pra vaḥ pāntaṃ raghumanyavo'ndho yajñaṃ rudrāya mīḻhuṣe bharadhvam | divo astoṣyasurasya vīrairiṣudhyeva maruto rodasyoḥ ||

Present, mild-tempered (priests), the sacrificial viands which you have prepared, to there warm-showering Rudra. I praise him who, with his heroid (followers) as (with shafts) from a quiver, expelled (the asuras) from heaven; and (I praise) the Maruts, (who abide) between heaven and earth.

पत्नीव पूर्वहूतिं वावृधध्या उषासानक्ता पुरुधा विदाने । स्तरीर्नात्कं व्युतं वसाना सूर्यस्य श्रिया सुदृशी हिरण्यैः ॥

patnīva pūrvahūtiṃ vāvṛdhadhyā uṣāsānaktā purudhā vidāne | starīrnātkaṃ vyutaṃ vasānā sūryasya śriyā sudṛśī hiraṇyaiḥ ||

Animated by our diversified praise, hasten, Morning and Night, to attend to our first invocation, as a wife (to the first call of her husband); and may the--Dawn, beautiful with the lustre of the (rising) Sun, and robbing like the Sun (her) vast expanse with golden rays, (come to our early rite).

ममत्तु नः परिज्मा वसर्हा ममत्तु वातो अपां वृषण्वान् । शिशीतमिन्द्रापर्वता युवं नस्तन्नो विश्वे वरिवस्यन्तु देवाः ॥

mamattu naḥ parijmā vasarhā mamattu vāto apāṃ vṛṣaṇvān | śiśītamindrāparvatā yuvaṃ nastanno viśve varivasyantu devāḥ ||

May the circumambient divinity, the wearer of various forms, grant us delight; may the wind, the shedder of rain, grant us delight; do you, Indra and Parvata, sharpen our (intellects), and may all the gods show us favour.

उत त्या मे यशसा श्वेतनायै व्यन्ता पान्तौशिजो हुवध्यै । प्र वो नपातमपां कृणुध्वं प्र मातरा रास्पिनस्यायोः ॥

uta tyā me yaśasā śvetanāyai vyantā pāntauśijo huvadhyai | pra vo napātamapāṃ kṛṇudhvaṃ pra mātarā rāspinasyāyoḥ ||

Whenever I, the son of Uśij, worship with my offerings (of food) those two (Aśvins) who eat and drink (of oblations and libations) at (the season) of the world-whitening (dawn); do you, Priests, glorify the grandson of the waters (Agni), and render (the divinities of the day and night) the mothers (as it were) of the man who repeats their praise.

आ वो रुवण्युमौशिजो हुवध्यै घोषेव शंसमर्जुनस्य नंशे । प्र वः पूष्णे दावन आँ अच्छा वोचेय वसुतातिमग्नेः ॥

ā vo ruvaṇyumauśijo huvadhyai ghoṣeva śaṃsamarjunasya naṃśe | pra vaḥ pūṣṇe dāvana ā~ acchā voceya vasutātimagneḥ ||

I, the son of Uśij, address to you (Aśvins) audible praises, in like manner as Ghoṣā praised you for the removal of her white-tinted (skin); I glorify (gods) the bountiful Pūṣan (associated) with you, and I proclaim the munificence of Agni.

श्रुतं मे मित्रावरुणा हवेमोत श्रुतं सदने विश्वतः सीम् । श्रोतु नः श्रोतुरातिः सुश्रोतुः सुक्षेत्रा सिन्धुरद्भिः ॥

śrutaṃ me mitrāvaruṇā havemota śrutaṃ sadane viśvataḥ sīm | śrotu naḥ śroturātiḥ suśrotuḥ sukṣetrā sindhuradbhiḥ ||

Mitra and Varuṇa, hear these my invocations, and moreover listen to those (that are) everywhere (uttered) in the chamber of sacrifice; and may Sindhu, the renowned bestower of wealth, hear us, (fertilizing our) broad fields with water.

स्तुषे सा वां वरुण मित्र रातिर्गवां शता पृक्षयामेषु पज्रे । श्रुतरथे प्रियरथे दधानाः सद्यः पुष्टिं निरुन्धानासो अग्मन् ॥

stuṣe sā vāṃ varuṇa mitra rātirgavāṃ śatā pṛkṣayāmeṣu pajre | śrutarathe priyarathe dadhānāḥ sadyaḥ puṣṭiṃ nirundhānāso agman ||

I praise you, Mitra and Varuṇa, for your gift of numerous cattle to the Pajra, and (from those praises) may abundant food (proceed). May (the gods), bestowing nourishment on me, come quickly unimpeded, (each) in his famous and favourite car.

अस्य स्तुषे महिमघस्य राधः सचा सनेम नहुषः सुवीराः । जनो यः पज्रेभ्यो वाजिनीवानश्वावतो रथिनो मह्यं सूरिः ॥

asya stuṣe mahimaghasya rādhaḥ sacā sanema nahuṣaḥ suvīrāḥ | jano yaḥ pajrebhyo vājinīvānaśvāvato rathino mahyaṃ sūriḥ ||

I laud the treasures of that opulent (assemblyof the gods); may we, men who (are blessed) with excellent descendants, partake of them together; the assembly conferring upon the Pajras abundant food, has been my benefactor, and has made me the master of horses and chariots.

जनो यो मित्रावरुणावभिध्रुगपो न वां सुनोत्यक्ष्णयाध्रुक् । स्वयं स यक्ष्मं हृदये नि धत्त आप यदीं होत्राभिॠतावा ॥

jano yo mitrāvaruṇāvabhidhrugapo na vāṃ sunotyakṣṇayādhruk | svayaṃ sa yakṣmaṃ hṛdaye ni dhatta āpa yadīṃ hotrābhiṝtāvā ||

The mman who does you wrong, Mitra and Varuṇa, who injures you in any way, who does not present you with oblations, contracts for himself sickness in his heart; but he who, performing worship, (celebrates it) with praises.

स व्राधतो नहुषो दंसुजूतः शर्धस्तरो नरां गूर्तश्रवाः । विसृष्टरातिर्याति बाऴ्हसृत्वा विश्वासु पृत्सु सदमिच्छूरः ॥

sa vrādhato nahuṣo daṃsujūtaḥ śardhastaro narāṃ gūrtaśravāḥ | visṛṣṭarātiryāti bāḻhasṛtvā viśvāsu pṛtsu sadamicchūraḥ ||

He, borne by well-trained horses, endowed with surpassing strength, renowned above men, munificent in gifts, moves a hero, ever undaunted in all combats, (even) against mightymen.

अध ग्मन्ता नहुषो हवं सूरेः श्रोता राजानो अमृतस्य मन्द्राः । नभोजुवो यन्निरवस्य राधः प्रशस्तये महिना रथवते ॥

adha gmantā nahuṣo havaṃ sūreḥ śrotā rājāno amṛtasya mandrāḥ | nabhojuvo yanniravasya rādhaḥ praśastaye mahinā rathavate ||

Royal bestowers of delight, listen to the invocation of (your) undying worshipper, and then come hither, that you who traverse the sky may be propitiated by the greatness of the (sacrificial) wealth presented to you by the sacrificer, who acknowledges no other protector.

एतं शर्धं धाम यस्य सूरेरित्यवोचन्दशतयस्य नंशे । द्युम्नानि येषु वसुताती रारन्विश्वे सन्वन्तु प्रभृथेषु वाजम् ॥

etaṃ śardhaṃ dhāma yasya sūrerityavocandaśatayasya naṃśe | dyumnāni yeṣu vasutātī rāranviśve sanvantu prabhṛtheṣu vājam ||

The gods have declared: we confer present vigour upon the worshipper (who invokes us) to partake of the (ibation). May all (the gods) in whom splendour and riches abound, bestow (abundant) food at (solemn) sacrifices.

मन्दामहे दशतयस्य धासेर्द्विर्यत्पञ्च बिभ्रतो यन्त्यन्ना । किमिष्टाश्व इष्टरश्मिरेत ईशानासस्तरुष ऋञ्जते नॄन् ॥

mandāmahe daśatayasya dhāserdviryatpañca bibhrato yantyannā | kimiṣṭāśva iṣṭaraśmireta īśānāsastaruṣa ṛñjate nṝn ||

We rejoice tha tfor the satisfaction of the ten (organs of sense), the (priests) bearing the twice five (ladles of) sacrificial food, proceed (to the altar). What can Iṣṭaśva, (what can) Iṣṭaraśmi, (what can) those who are now lords of the earth, achieve (with respect) to the leaders of men, the conquerors of their foes?

हिरण्यकर्णं मणिग्रीवमर्णस्तन्नो विश्वे वरिवस्यन्तु देवाः । अर्यो गिरः सद्य आ जग्मुषीरोस्राश्चाकन्तूभयेष्वस्मे ॥

hiraṇyakarṇaṃ maṇigrīvamarṇastanno viśve varivasyantu devāḥ | aryo giraḥ sadya ā jagmuṣīrosrāścākantūbhayeṣvasme ||

May all the gods favour us with a person n decorated with golden earrings and jewel necklace; may the venerable (company of the deities) be propitiated by the praises issuing (from the mouth of the worshipper); may our offerings be acceptable to them, and (may they be plural ased) with both (our praises and offerings).

चत्वारो मा मशर्शारस्य शिश्वस्त्रयो राज्ञ आयवसस्य जिष्णोः । रथो वां मित्रावरुणा दीर्घाप्साः स्यूमगभस्तिः सूरो नाद्यौत् ॥

catvāro mā maśarśārasya śiśvastrayo rājña āyavasasya jiṣṇoḥ | ratho vāṃ mitrāvaruṇā dīrghāpsāḥ syūmagabhastiḥ sūro nādyaut ||

The four (silly) sons of Maśar'śāra, the three of the victorious monarch Āyavasa (annoy) me. Let your spacious and bright-rayed chariot, Mitra and Varuṇa, blaze (before them) like the sun (filling them with fear).
