ईऴे द्यावापृथिवी पूर्वचित्तयेऽग्निं घर्मं सुरुचं यामन्निष्टये । याभिर्भरे कारमंशाय जिन्वथस्ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

īḻe dyāvāpṛthivī pūrvacittaye'gniṃ gharmaṃ surucaṃ yāmanniṣṭaye | yābhirbhare kāramaṃśāya jinvathastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

I praise Heaven and Earth for preliminary meditation, (prior to the coming of the Aśvins); I praise the hot and bright-shining Agni upon their approach, (as preparatory) to their worship; with those appliances with which you sound the conch-shell in battle for your share (in the booty), with those aids, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

युवोर्दानाय सुभरा असश्चतो रथमा तस्थुर्वचसं न मन्तवे । याभिर्धियोऽवथः कर्मन्निष्टये ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yuvordānāya subharā asaścato rathamā tasthurvacasaṃ na mantave | yābhirdhiyo'vathaḥ karmanniṣṭaye tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

Earnest and exclusive adorers stand, Aśvins, round your car, (to benefit) by your bounty, as (disciples listen) to the words (of a teacher) for instrumental uction; with those aids with which you defend the pious who are engaged in acts of worship, come, Aśvins,wilingly hither.

युवं तासां दिव्यस्य प्रशासने विशां क्षयथो अमृतस्य मज्मना । याभिर्धेनुमस्वं पिन्वथो नरा ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yuvaṃ tāsāṃ divyasya praśāsane viśāṃ kṣayatho amṛtasya majmanā | yābhirdhenumasvaṃ pinvatho narā tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

By the vigour infused from celestial nectar, you are able, leaders (of sacrifice), to rule over those beings (who people the three worldds); with those aids by which you gave (milk) to the barren cow, come, Aśvins, willingly hither.

याभिः परिज्मा तनयस्य मज्मना द्विमाता तूर्षु तरणिर्विभूषति । याभिस्त्रिमन्तुरभवद्विचक्षणस्ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ parijmā tanayasya majmanā dvimātā tūrṣu taraṇirvibhūṣati | yābhistrimanturabhavadvicakṣaṇastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which the circumambient (wind), endowed with the vigour of his son, the measurer of the two worlds (of heaven and earth), and swiftest of the swift, beautifies (all things), and by which (Kakṣīvat) became learned in the three kinds of sacrifice; with them come, Aśvins, willingly hither.

याभी रेभं निवृतं सितमद्भ्य उद्वन्दनमैरयतं स्वर्दृशे । याभिः कण्वं प्र सिषासन्तमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhī rebhaṃ nivṛtaṃ sitamadbhya udvandanamairayataṃ svardṛśe | yābhiḥ kaṇvaṃ pra siṣāsantamāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you raised up from the water, Rebha, who had been cst bound (into a well), and also Vandana (similarly circumstanced), to behold the sky; by which you protected Kaṇva, when longing to see the light; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिरन्तकं जसमानमारणे भुज्युं याभिरव्यथिभिर्जिजिन्वथुः । याभिः कर्कन्धुं वय्यं च जिन्वथस्ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhirantakaṃ jasamānamāraṇe bhujyuṃ yābhiravyathibhirjijinvathuḥ | yābhiḥ karkandhuṃ vayyaṃ ca jinvathastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you rescued Antaka, (when cast into) a deep (pool), and about to be destroyed; by which, inflicting no distress, you preserved Bhujyu, and by which you relieved Karkandhu and Vayya; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिः शुचन्तिं धनसां सुषंसदं तप्तं घर्ममोम्यावन्तमत्रये । याभिः पृश्निगुं पुरुकुत्समावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ śucantiṃ dhanasāṃ suṣaṃsadaṃ taptaṃ gharmamomyāvantamatraye | yābhiḥ pṛśniguṃ purukutsamāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you enriched Śucanti, and gave him a handsome habitation, and rendered the scorching heat plural asurable to Atri, and by which you preserved Pṛśnigu and Purukutsa; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिः शचीभिर्वृषणा परावृजं प्रान्धं श्रोणं चक्षस एतवे कृथः । याभिर्वर्तिकां ग्रसिताममुञ्चतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ śacībhirvṛṣaṇā parāvṛjaṃ prāndhaṃ śroṇaṃ cakṣasa etave kṛthaḥ | yābhirvartikāṃ grasitāmamuñcataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

Showerers (of benefits), with those aids by which you enabled (the lame) Parāvṛj (to walk), the blind (Ṛjraśva) to see, and (the cripple) Śroṇa to go, and by which you set free the quail when seized (by a wolf); with those aids, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिः सिन्धुं मधुमन्तमसश्चतं वसिष्ठं याभिरजरावजिन्वतम् । याभिः कुत्सं श्रुतर्यं नर्यमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ sindhuṃ madhumantamasaścataṃ vasiṣṭhaṃ yābhirajarāvajinvatam | yābhiḥ kutsaṃ śrutaryaṃ naryamāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you caused the sweet stream to flow, by which you, who are exempt from decay, gratified Vāsiṣṭha, and by which you protected (ṛṣis:) Kutsa, Śrutarya, and Narya; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hitheṛ

याभिर्विश्पलां धनसामथर्व्यं सहस्रमीऴ्ह आजावजिन्वतम् । याभिर्वशमश्व्यं प्रेणिमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhirviśpalāṃ dhanasāmatharvyaṃ sahasramīḻha ājāvajinvatam | yābhirvaśamaśvyaṃ preṇimāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you enabled the opulent Viśpalā, when she was unable to move, to go to the battle rich in a thousand spoils, and by which you protected the devout Vaśa, the son of Aśva; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिः सुदानू औशिजाय वणिजे दीर्घश्रवसे मधु कोशो अक्षरत् । कक्षीवन्तं स्तोतारं याभिरावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ sudānū auśijāya vaṇije dīrghaśravase madhu kośo akṣarat | kakṣīvantaṃ stotāraṃ yābhirāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which, beauteous donors, the cloud (was made to) shed its sweet (water), for the sake of the merchant Dīrghaśravas, the son of Uṣij, and by which you protected the devout Kakṣīvat; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभी रसां क्षोदसोद्नः पिपिन्वथुरनश्वं याभी रथमावतं जिषे । याभिस्त्रिशोक उस्रिया उदाजत ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhī rasāṃ kṣodasodnaḥ pipinvathuranaśvaṃ yābhī rathamāvataṃ jiṣe | yābhistriśoka usriyā udājata tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you filled the (dry) river-bed

याभिः सूर्यं परियाथः परावति मन्धातारं क्षैत्रपत्येष्वावतम् । याभिर्विप्रं प्र भरद्वाजमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ sūryaṃ pariyāthaḥ parāvati mandhātāraṃ kṣaitrapatyeṣvāvatam | yābhirvipraṃ pra bharadvājamāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you encompassed the sun, when afar off, (to extricate him from eclipse); by which you defended Mandhātā in (the discharge of) his soverign functions, and by whciḥ you protected the sage Bharadvāja; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिर्महामतिथिग्वं कशोजुवं दिवोदासं शम्बरहत्य आवतम् । याभिः पूर्भिद्ये त्रसदस्युमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhirmahāmatithigvaṃ kaśojuvaṃ divodāsaṃ śambarahatya āvatam | yābhiḥ pūrbhidye trasadasyumāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you defended the mighty and hospitable Divodāsa, (when, having undertaken) the death of Śambara, he hid himself in the water (through fear of the asuras); by which you protected Trasadasyu in war; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिर्वम्रं विपिपानमुपस्तुतं कलिं याभिर्वित्तजानिं दुवस्यथः । याभिर्व्यश्वमुत पृथिमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhirvamraṃ vipipānamupastutaṃ kaliṃ yābhirvittajāniṃ duvasyathaḥ | yābhirvyaśvamuta pṛthimāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you preserved Vamra, praised by all around him, when drinking (the dews of the earth); by which you protected Kali when he had taken a wife, and Pṛthi,when had lost his horse; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिर्नरा शयवे याभिरत्रये याभिः पुरा मनवे गातुमीषथुः । याभिः शारीराजतं स्यूमरश्मये ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhirnarā śayave yābhiratraye yābhiḥ purā manave gātumīṣathuḥ | yābhiḥ śārīrājataṃ syūmaraśmaye tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids, leaders (of sacrifices), which you afforded to Śayu, to Atri, and formerly to Manu, anxious (to show them) the way (to escape from evil); with those by which you shot arrows (upon the foes) of Syūmaraśmi; with them, Aśvis, willingly come hither.

याभिः पठर्वा जठरस्य मज्मनाग्निर्नादीदेच्चित इद्धो अज्मन्ना । याभिः शर्यातमवथो महाधने ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ paṭharvā jaṭharasya majmanāgnirnādīdeccita iddho ajmannā | yābhiḥ śaryātamavatho mahādhane tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

WIth those aids by which Paddarvan shone with with strngth of orm in battle, like a blazing fire piled up (with fuel); by which you defended Śaryāta in war; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिरङ्गिरो मनसा निरण्यथोऽग्रं गच्छथो विवरे गोअर्णसः । याभिर्मनुं शूरमिषा समावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiraṅgiro manasā niraṇyatho'graṃ gacchatho vivare goarṇasaḥ | yābhirmanuṃ śūramiṣā samāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

Aṅgiras, (prise the Aśvins); Aśvins, with those aids by which, with (gratified) minds, you delight (in praise), and thence preceded the gods to the cavern, to recover the stolen cattle; by which you sustained the heroic Manu with food; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिः पत्नीर्विमदाय न्यूहथुरा घ वा याभिररुणीरशिक्षतम् । याभिः सुदास ऊहथुः सुदेव्यं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ patnīrvimadāya nyūhathurā gha vā yābhiraruṇīraśikṣatam | yābhiḥ sudāsa ūhathuḥ sudevyaṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you gave a wife to Vimada, by which you recovered the ruddy kine, by which you conferred excellent wealth upon Sudās; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिः शंताती भवथो ददाशुषे भुज्युं याभिरवथो याभिरध्रिगुम् । ओम्यावतीं सुभरामृतस्तुभं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ śaṃtātī bhavatho dadāśuṣe bhujyuṃ yābhiravatho yābhiradhrigum | omyāvatīṃ subharāmṛtastubhaṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you are bestowers of happiness upon the donor (of oblations), by which you have protected Bhujyu and Adhrigu, and by which you have granted delighting and nourishing (food) to Ritastubh; with them. Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिः कृशानुमसने दुवस्यथो जवे याभिर्यूनो अर्वन्तमावतम् । मधु प्रियं भरथो यत्सरड्भ्यस्ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ kṛśānumasane duvasyatho jave yābhiryūno arvantamāvatam | madhu priyaṃ bharatho yatsaraḍbhyastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you defended Kṛśānu in battle, with which you succoured the horse of the young Purukutsa in speed, and by which you deliver the plural asant honey to the bees; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

याभिर्नरं गोषुयुधं नृषाह्ये क्षेत्रस्य साता तनयस्य जिन्वथः । याभी रथाँ अवथो याभिरर्वतस्ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhirnaraṃ goṣuyudhaṃ nṛṣāhye kṣetrasya sātā tanayasya jinvathaḥ | yābhī rathā~ avatho yābhirarvatastābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you succoured the worshipper contending in war for cattle, by which you assist him in the acquisition of houses and wealth, by which you preserve his chariots and horses; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hitheṛ

याभिः कुत्समार्जुनेयं शतक्रतू प्र तुर्वीतिं प्र च दभीतिमावतम् । याभिर्ध्वसन्तिं पुरुषन्तिमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

yābhiḥ kutsamārjuneyaṃ śatakratū pra turvītiṃ pra ca dabhītimāvatam | yābhirdhvasantiṃ puruṣantimāvataṃ tābhirū ṣu ūtibhiraśvinā gatam ||

With those aids by which you, who are worshipped in many rites, protected Kutsa, the son of Arjuna, as well as Turviti, Dhabhiti, Dhvasant, and Puruśanti; with them, Aśvins, come willingly hither.

अप्नस्वतीमश्विना वाचमस्मे कृतं नो दस्रा वृषणा मनीषाम् । अद्यूत्येऽवसे नि ह्वये वां वृधे च नो भवतं वाजसातौ ॥

apnasvatīmaśvinā vācamasme kṛtaṃ no dasrā vṛṣaṇā manīṣām | adyūtye'vase ni hvaye vāṃ vṛdhe ca no bhavataṃ vājasātau ||

Aśvins, sanctify our words with works; showerers (of benefits), subduers of foes (invigorate) our understandin g(for the sacred study); we invoke you both, in the last watch of the night, for our preservation; be to us for increase in the provision of food.

द्युभिरक्तुभिः परि पातमस्मानरिष्टेभिरश्विना सौभगेभिः । तन्नो मित्रो वरुणो मामहन्तामदितिः सिन्धुः पृथिवी उत द्यौः ॥

dyubhiraktubhiḥ pari pātamasmānariṣṭebhiraśvinā saubhagebhiḥ | tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyauḥ ||

Cherish us, Aśvins, always, by night or day, with undiminished blessings; and may Mitra, Varuṇa, Aditi--ocean, earth and heaven, be favourable to this our (prayer).
