संवह
[samvaha] IAST: SAṂVAHA
A wind which moves the aerial chariots of the देवस् . According to व्यास there are seven winds. While once he was teaching his son शुक Vedas, a storm blew and the teaching had to be stopped for some time. Then शुक asked his father about winds, and व्यास answered as follows:
There are seven वायुस् (winds). The first one called प्रवह moves the clouds. The second one, आवह , causes thunder while the third वायु , उद्वह , converts sea-water into vapour and causes rain. The fourth one संवह moves clouds in the sky. The clouds are the aeroplanes of the देवस् . The fifth is विवह , which gives form and shape to the clouds. The sixth वायु , परिवह , keeps आकाशगङ्गा motionless while due to the action of the seventh वायु , परावह , the souls travel. [mh-12-329-1 ] .
