अयनस् two
A. उत्तरायण , from July-August to December-January ( धनु ). B. दक्षिणायन , from January-February ( मकरम् ) to June-July ( मिथुनम् ). For the Devas उत्तरायण is day and दक्षिणायन night. Religiousminded Hindus believe that उत्तरायण is an auspicious period for death.
