. An island near द्वारका where, according to Chapter 38 of the Southern Text of भारत , there was a forest. It was in this island that विनता , mother of गरुड and कद्रू , mother of the नागस् lived. गरुड , after freeing his mother from her slavery evicted the नागस् from this island. (Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa, Chapter 17) . Following the eviction, many of the prominent नागस् lived in पाताल . But, कालिय , in fear of गरुड , lived in कालिन्दी . After his suppression by श्री कृष्ण कालिय , with his family, as advised by कृष्ण returned to रमणकम् . (Bhāgavata, 10th Skandha)
