A Deva. The पुराणस् contain the following information about him.
He is one of the अष्टदिक्पालस् (guards of the eight quarters). He is in charge of the south-western corner. (See under Aṣṭadikpālas) .
He is one of the एकादशरुद्रस् . [mh-1-66-2 ] .
ब्रह्मा was his grand-father and स्थाणु his father. [mh-1-66-2 ] .
He attended the birth-day celebrations of अर्जुन . [mh-1-129-63 ] .
In temples his idols are installed with sword in hand and seated on an ass. (Agni Purāṇa, Chapter 51) .
Wife of the देव called अधर्म . She had three sons called भय , महाभय and अन्तक . These राक्षसस् are known as नैरृतस् . [mh-1-66-54 ] .
