इन्द्र , the powerful deity, is invoked to rapidly approach with swift steeds, undeterred like a traveler navigating a desert [rv-3-45-1 ] . Celebrated as the vanquisher of वृत्र , and a rain-bringer, Indra mounts his chariot to protect and enrich his followers [rv-3-45-2 ] . Like a careful herdsman nourishing cattle, Indra imbibes Soma, granting wealth and sustenance akin to ripened fruit falling at harvest [rv-3-45-3 ] .
