[Mandala ] [Shloka ]

The glorious sun, regarded as the eye of मित्र , वरुण , and अग्नि , lights the heavens, earth, and firmament, heralding the dawn [rv-1-115-1 ] . Following the divine उषा , it inspires rituals for prosperity [rv-1-115-2 ] . Swift horses propel the sun, revered for their vigor [rv-1-115-3 ] . At sunset, it retracts its light, giving way to night [rv-1-115-4 ] . With sunrise, invokes divine protection from sin [rv-1-115-6 ] .
