ऋग्वेद 6.73 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

यो अद्रिभित्प्रथमजा ऋतावा बृहस्पतिराङ्गिरसो हविष्मान् । द्विबर्हज्मा प्राघर्मसत्पिता न आ रोदसी वृषभो रोरवीति ॥

yo adribhitprathamajā ṛtāvā bṛhaspatirāṅgiraso haviṣmān | dvibarhajmā prāgharmasatpitā na ā rodasī vṛṣabho roravīti ||

Bṛhaspati, who is the breaker of the mountain, the first-born (of Prajāpati), the observer of truth, the descendant of Aṅgirasa, the partaker of the oblation, the traverser of two worlds, abiding in the region of light, is to us a father; he, the showerer, hunders and in heaven and earth.

जनाय चिद्य ईवत उ लोकं बृहस्पतिर्देवहूतौ चकार । घ्नन्वृत्राणि वि पुरो दर्दरीति जयञ्छत्रूँरमित्रान्पृत्सु साहन् ॥

janāya cidya īvata u lokaṃ bṛhaspatirdevahūtau cakāra | ghnanvṛtrāṇi vi puro dardarīti jayañchatrū~ramitrānpṛtsu sāhan ||

Bṛhaspati, who has appointed a region for the man who attends diligently at divine worship, destroying impediments, conquering foes, overcoming enemies, demolished various cities (of the asuras).

बृहस्पतिः समजयद्वसूनि महो व्रजान्गोमतो देव एषः । अपः सिषासन्त्स्वरप्रतीतो बृहस्पतिर्हन्त्यमित्रमर्कैः ॥

bṛhaspatiḥ samajayadvasūni maho vrajāngomato deva eṣaḥ | apaḥ siṣāsantsvarapratīto bṛhaspatirhantyamitramarkaiḥ ||

This Bṛhaspati has conquered the treasures (of the enemy), and the spacious pastures with the cattle; purposing to appropriate he waters (of the firmament), he destroys with sacred prayers the adversary of heaven.
