[rv-6-71] • 6 श्लोकाः

उदु ष्य देवः सविता हिरण्यया बाहू अयंस्त सवनाय सुक्रतुः । घृतेन पाणी अभि प्रुष्णुते मखो युवा सुदक्षो रजसो विधर्मणि ॥

udu ṣya devaḥ savitā hiraṇyayā bāhū ayaṃsta savanāya sukratuḥ | ghṛtena pāṇī abhi pruṣṇute makho yuvā sudakṣo rajaso vidharmaṇi ||

The divine and benevolent Savitā puts forth his golden arms for (making) donations; the adorable, youthful, sagacious (deity), stretches out his hands, filled with water, in the various services of the world.

देवस्य वयं सवितुः सवीमनि श्रेष्ठे स्याम वसुनश्च दावने । यो विश्वस्य द्विपदो यश्चतुष्पदो निवेशने प्रसवे चासि भूमनः ॥

devasya vayaṃ savituḥ savīmani śreṣṭhe syāma vasunaśca dāvane | yo viśvasya dvipado yaścatuṣpado niveśane prasave cāsi bhūmanaḥ ||

May we be among the progeny of the divine Savitā, and (have power) to offer him most excellent donations; for you are he who (are absolute) in the procreation and perpetuation of many (living beings), bipeds and quadrupeds.

अदब्धेभिः सवितः पायुभिष्ट्वं शिवेभिरद्य परि पाहि नो गयम् । हिरण्यजिह्वः सुविताय नव्यसे रक्षा माकिर्नो अघशंस ईशत ॥

adabdhebhiḥ savitaḥ pāyubhiṣṭvaṃ śivebhiradya pari pāhi no gayam | hiraṇyajihvaḥ suvitāya navyase rakṣā mākirno aghaśaṃsa īśata ||

Do you, Savitā, posper today our dwelling with uninjurable protections, confirming happiness; do you, who are golden-tongued, (be vigilant) for our present prosperity; protect us; let not any calumniator have power (to harm) us.

उदु ष्य देवः सविता दमूना हिरण्यपाणिः प्रतिदोषमस्थात् । अयोहनुर्यजतो मन्द्रजिह्व आ दाशुषे सुवति भूरि वामम् ॥

udu ṣya devaḥ savitā damūnā hiraṇyapāṇiḥ pratidoṣamasthāt | ayohanuryajato mandrajihva ā dāśuṣe suvati bhūri vāmam ||

May the divine, munificent, golden-handed, golden-jawed, adorable, sweet-spoken Savitā, rise regularly at the close of night; when he besows abundant and desirable (food) upon the donor of the oblation.

उदू अयाँ उपवक्तेव बाहू हिरण्यया सविता सुप्रतीका । दिवो रोहांस्यरुहत्पृथिव्या अरीरमत्पतयत्कच्चिदभ्वम् ॥

udū ayā~ upavakteva bāhū hiraṇyayā savitā supratīkā | divo rohāṃsyaruhatpṛthivyā arīramatpatayatkaccidabhvam ||

May Savitā put forth like an orator his golden well-formed arms; (he who), from the ends of the earth, ascends to the summit of the sky, and, moving along, delights every thing that is.

वाममद्य सवितर्वाममु श्वो दिवेदिवे वाममस्मभ्यं सावीः । वामस्य हि क्षयस्य देव भूरेरया धिया वामभाजः स्याम ॥

vāmamadya savitarvāmamu śvo divedive vāmamasmabhyaṃ sāvīḥ | vāmasya hi kṣayasya deva bhūrerayā dhiyā vāmabhājaḥ syāma ||

Beget for us, Savitā, wealth today, wealth tomorrow, wealth day by day; you are the giver of ample wealth, of a (spacious) mansion; may we, by this praise, become partakers of wealth.
