[rv-4-36] • 9 श्लोकाः

अनश्वो जातो अनभीशुरुक्थ्यो रथस्त्रिचक्रः परि वर्तते रजः । महत्तद्वो देव्यस्य प्रवाचनं द्यामृभवः पृथिवीं यच्च पुष्यथ ॥

anaśvo jāto anabhīśurukthyo rathastricakraḥ pari vartate rajaḥ | mahattadvo devyasya pravācanaṃ dyāmṛbhavaḥ pṛthivīṃ yacca puṣyatha ||

The glorious three-wheeled car (of the Aśvins made, Ṛbhus by you) traverses the firmament without horses, without reins; great was that proclamation of your divine (power), by which, Ṛbhus, you cherish heaven and earth.

रथं ये चक्रुः सुवृतं सुचेतसोऽविह्वरन्तं मनसस्परि ध्यया । ताँ ऊ न्वस्य सवनस्य पीतय आ वो वाजा ऋभवो वेदयामसि ॥

rathaṃ ye cakruḥ suvṛtaṃ sucetaso'vihvarantaṃ manasaspari dhyayā | tā~ ū nvasya savanasya pītaya ā vo vājā ṛbhavo vedayāmasi ||

We invoke you respectfully, Vājas and Ṛbhus, to drink of this libation, for you are the wise sages, who, by mental meditation, made the well-constructed undeviating car (of the Aśvins).

तद्वो वाजा ऋभवः सुप्रवाचनं देवेषु विभ्वो अभवन्महित्वनम् । जिव्री यत्सन्ता पितरा सनाजुरा पुनर्युवाना चरथाय तक्षथ ॥

tadvo vājā ṛbhavaḥ supravācanaṃ deveṣu vibhvo abhavanmahitvanam | jivrī yatsantā pitarā sanājurā punaryuvānā carathāya takṣatha ||

Therefore, Vāja, Ṛbhu, Vibhvan, was your greatness proclaimed among the gods, that you made your aged and inform parents young (and able) to go (withere they would).

एकं वि चक्र चमसं चतुर्वयं निश्चर्मणो गामरिणीत धीतिभिः । अथा देवेष्वमृतत्वमानश श्रुष्टी वाजा ऋभवस्तद्व उक्थ्यम् ॥

ekaṃ vi cakra camasaṃ caturvayaṃ niścarmaṇo gāmariṇīta dhītibhiḥ | athā deveṣvamṛtatvamānaśa śruṣṭī vājā ṛbhavastadva ukthyam ||

You have made the single ladle fourfold; by your (marvellous) acts you have clothed the cow with a (new) hide; therefore you have obtained immortality among the gods; such acts, Vājas and Ṛbhus, are to be eagerly glorified.

ऋभुतो रयिः प्रथमश्रवस्तमो वाजश्रुतासो यमजीजनन्नरः । विभ्वतष्टो विदथेषु प्रवाच्यो यं देवासोऽवथा स विचर्षणिः ॥

ṛbhuto rayiḥ prathamaśravastamo vājaśrutāso yamajījanannaraḥ | vibhvataṣṭo vidatheṣu pravācyo yaṃ devāso'vathā sa vicarṣaṇiḥ ||

From the Ṛbhus may wealth, the best and most productive of food, (come to me); that which the leaders of rites renowned together with the Vājas, have engendered; that which has been fabricated by Vibhvan and is to be celebrated at sacrifice; that which, deities you protect, that is to be beheld.

स वाज्यर्वा स ऋषिर्वचस्यया स शूरो अस्ता पृतनासु दुष्टरः । स रायस्पोषं स सुवीर्यं दधे यं वाजो विभ्वाँ ऋभवो यमाविषुः ॥

sa vājyarvā sa ṛṣirvacasyayā sa śūro astā pṛtanāsu duṣṭaraḥ | sa rāyaspoṣaṃ sa suvīryaṃ dadhe yaṃ vājo vibhvā~ ṛbhavo yamāviṣuḥ ||

He is vigorous and skilled in war, he is a ṛṣi worthy of homage, he is a hero, the discomfiter of foes, invincible in battles, he is possessed of ample wealth, and (is blessed) with excellent posterity, whom Vāja and Vibhvan, whom the Ṛbhus protect.

श्रेष्ठं वः पेशो अधि धायि दर्शतं स्तोमो वाजा ऋभवस्तं जुजुष्टन । धीरासो हि ष्ठा कवयो विपश्चितस्तान्व एना ब्रह्मणा वेदयामसि ॥

śreṣṭhaṃ vaḥ peśo adhi dhāyi darśataṃ stomo vājā ṛbhavastaṃ jujuṣṭana | dhīrāso hi ṣṭhā kavayo vipaścitastānva enā brahmaṇā vedayāmasi ||

An excellent and agreeable form has been assumed by you; (this is our own) praise; Vājas and Ṛbhus be gratified (thereby), for you are wise, experienced, and intelligent; such we make you known (to be) by this (our) prayer.

यूयमस्मभ्यं धिषणाभ्यस्परि विद्वांसो विश्वा नर्याणि भोजना । द्युमन्तं वाजं वृषशुष्ममुत्तममा नो रयिमृभवस्तक्षता वयः ॥

yūyamasmabhyaṃ dhiṣaṇābhyaspari vidvāṃso viśvā naryāṇi bhojanā | dyumantaṃ vājaṃ vṛṣaśuṣmamuttamamā no rayimṛbhavastakṣatā vayaḥ ||

Do you who are wise, (bestow) upon us, in requital of our praises, all enjoyments that are good for man and fabricate for us, Ṛbhus, riches and food, resplendent invigorating, overpowering (foes), and most excellent.

इह प्रजामिह रयिं रराणा इह श्रवो वीरवत्तक्षता नः । येन वयं चितयेमात्यन्यान्तं वाजं चित्रमृभवो ददा नः ॥

iha prajāmiha rayiṃ rarāṇā iha śravo vīravattakṣatā naḥ | yena vayaṃ citayemātyanyāntaṃ vājaṃ citramṛbhavo dadā naḥ ||

Gratified (by your worship), fabricate for us, on this occasion, progeny and wealth, and reputation, with numerous adherents; grant to us, Ṛbhus, abundant sustenance wherewith we may greatly excel others.
