[rv-3-58] • 9 श्लोकाः

धेनुः प्रत्नस्य काम्यं दुहानान्तः पुत्रश्चरति दक्षिणायाः । आ द्योतनिं वहति शुभ्रयामोषसः स्तोमो अश्विनावजीगः ॥

dhenuḥ pratnasya kāmyaṃ duhānāntaḥ putraścarati dakṣiṇāyāḥ | ā dyotaniṃ vahati śubhrayāmoṣasaḥ stomo aśvināvajīgaḥ ||

The cow (the dawn) yields the desired milk to the ancient (Agni); the son of the south passes within (the firmament); the bright-houred (day) brings the illuminative (sun); the praiser awakes (to glorify) the Aśvins preceding the dawn.

सुयुग्वहन्ति प्रति वामृतेनोर्ध्वा भवन्ति पितरेव मेधाः । जरेथामस्मद्वि पणेर्मनीषां युवोरवश्चकृमा यातमर्वाक् ॥

suyugvahanti prati vāmṛtenordhvā bhavanti pitareva medhāḥ | jarethāmasmadvi paṇermanīṣāṃ yuvoravaścakṛmā yātamarvāk ||

The well-yoked (horses) bear you both in your truth (preserving car); the offerings proceed towards you as (children to their parents); discard from us the disposition of the niggard; we have made ready for you our offering; come to our presence.

सुयुग्भिरश्वैः सुवृता रथेन दस्राविमं शृणुतं श्लोकमद्रेः । किमङ्ग वां प्रत्यवर्तिं गमिष्ठाहुर्विप्रासो अश्विना पुराजाः ॥

suyugbhiraśvaiḥ suvṛtā rathena dasrāvimaṃ śṛṇutaṃ ślokamadreḥ | kimaṅga vāṃ pratyavartiṃ gamiṣṭhāhurviprāso aśvinā purājāḥ ||

Dasras, with well-yoked horses and well-constructed car, hear this praise of the worshipper, for have not the ancient sages declared you, Aśvins, to be most ready to come to the aid of the destitute?

आ मन्येथामा गतं कच्चिदेवैर्विश्वे जनासो अश्विना हवन्ते । इमा हि वां गोऋजीका मधूनि प्र मित्रासो न ददुरुस्रो अग्रे ॥

ā manyethāmā gataṃ kaccidevairviśve janāso aśvinā havante | imā hi vāṃ goṛjīkā madhūni pra mitrāso na dadurusro agre ||

I glorify with praise the beautiful heaven and earth taking in hand the stones (to express the libation) at the sweet (Soma) juice mixed with milk, as friends (give gifts to friends); the sun is in advance, (therefore come to this rite).

तिरः पुरू चिदश्विना रजांस्याङ्गूषो वां मघवाना जनेषु । एह यातं पथिभिर्देवयानैर्दस्राविमे वां निधयो मधूनाम् ॥

tiraḥ purū cidaśvinā rajāṃsyāṅgūṣo vāṃ maghavānā janeṣu | eha yātaṃ pathibhirdevayānairdasrāvime vāṃ nidhayo madhūnām ||

Eclipsing (by your splendour) many regions, Aśvins, (come hither); loud priase awaits you opulent (Aśvins) among men; come to this rite by the paths traversed by the gods; here, Dasras, are ample stores of the exhilarating (Soma) juices.

पुराणमोकः सख्यं शिवं वां युवोर्नरा द्रविणं जह्नाव्याम् । पुनः कृण्वानाः सख्या शिवानि मध्वा मदेम सह नू समानाः ॥

purāṇamokaḥ sakhyaṃ śivaṃ vāṃ yuvornarā draviṇaṃ jahnāvyām | punaḥ kṛṇvānāḥ sakhyā śivāni madhvā madema saha nū samānāḥ ||

Your ancient friendship is desirable and auspicious; your wealth, leaders (of rites), is in the family of Jahnu; renewing that auspicious friendship, may we, your associates, delight you with the sweet (Soma).

अश्विना वायुना युवं सुदक्षा नियुद्भिष्च सजोषसा युवाना । नासत्या तिरोअह्न्यं जुषाणा सोमं पिबतमस्रिधा सुदानू ॥

aśvinā vāyunā yuvaṃ sudakṣā niyudbhiṣca sajoṣasā yuvānā | nāsatyā tiroahnyaṃ juṣāṇā somaṃ pibatamasridhā sudānū ||

Aśvins, endowed with power, ever young, in whom is no untruth, unwearied, munificent, accepters (of libations), drink with Vāyu and your steeds, rejoicing together, of the Soma libation offered at the close of day.

अश्विना परि वामिषः पुरूचीरीयुर्गीर्भिर्यतमाना अमृध्राः । रथो ह वामृतजा अद्रिजूतः परि द्यावापृथिवी याति सद्यः ॥

aśvinā pari vāmiṣaḥ purūcīrīyurgīrbhiryatamānā amṛdhrāḥ | ratho ha vāmṛtajā adrijūtaḥ pari dyāvāpṛthivī yāti sadyaḥ ||

Aśvins, abundant (sacrificial) viands are presented to you, and blameless worshippers (salute you) with praises; your water-shedding car, attracted by the sacrificers, quickly compasses earth and heaven.

अश्विना मधुषुत्तमो युवाकुः सोमस्तं पातमा गतं दुरोणे । रथो ह वां भूरि वर्पः करिक्रत्सुतावतो निष्कृतमागमिष्ठः ॥

aśvinā madhuṣuttamo yuvākuḥ somastaṃ pātamā gataṃ duroṇe | ratho ha vāṃ bhūri varpaḥ karikratsutāvato niṣkṛtamāgamiṣṭhaḥ ||

Aśvins, this most sweet Soma is mixed; drink it; come to (our) dwelling; your car, repeatedly bestowing wealth, is coming to the appointed plural ce of the offerer of the libation.
