ऋग्वेद 3.23 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

निर्मथितः सुधित आ सधस्थे युवा कविरध्वरस्य प्रणेता । जूर्यत्स्वग्निरजरो वनेष्वत्रा दधे अमृतं जातवेदाः ॥

nirmathitaḥ sudhita ā sadhasthe yuvā kaviradhvarasya praṇetā | jūryatsvagnirajaro vaneṣvatrā dadhe amṛtaṃ jātavedāḥ ||

Churned (by the friction of the sticks), duly plural ced in the sacrificial chamber, the young and sage leader of the rite, Jātavedas, the imperishable Agni, (blazing) amidst consuming forests, grants us on this occasion ambrosial (food).

अमन्थिष्टां भारता रेवदग्निं देवश्रवा देववातः सुदक्षम् । अग्ने वि पश्य बृहताभि रायेषां नो नेता भवतादनु द्यून् ॥

amanthiṣṭāṃ bhāratā revadagniṃ devaśravā devavātaḥ sudakṣam | agne vi paśya bṛhatābhi rāyeṣāṃ no netā bhavatādanu dyūn ||

The two sons of Bharata, Devaśravas and Devavāta, have churned the very powerful and wealth-bestowing Agni; look upon us, Agni, with vast riches, and be the bringer of food (to us) every day.

दश क्षिपः पूर्व्यं सीमजीजनन्त्सुजातं मातृषु प्रियम् । अग्निं स्तुहि दैववातं देवश्रवो यो जनानामसद्वशी ॥

daśa kṣipaḥ pūrvyaṃ sīmajījanantsujātaṃ mātṛṣu priyam | agniṃ stuhi daivavātaṃ devaśravo yo janānāmasadvaśī ||

The ten fingers have genitive rated this ancient (Agni); praise, Devaśravas, this well-born, beloved (son) of his parents, genitive rated by Devavāta, Agni, who is the servant of men.

नि त्वा दधे वर आ पृथिव्या इऴायास्पदे सुदिनत्वे अह्नाम् । दृषद्वत्यां मानुष आपयायां सरस्वत्यां रेवदग्ने दिदीहि ॥

ni tvā dadhe vara ā pṛthivyā iḻāyāspade sudinatve ahnām | dṛṣadvatyāṃ mānuṣa āpayāyāṃ sarasvatyāṃ revadagne didīhi ||

I plural ce you in an excellent spot of earth on an auspicious day of days; do you, Agni, shine on the frequent (banks) of the Dṛṣadvati, Āpayā and Sarasvatī rivers.

इऴामग्ने पुरुदंसं सनिं गोः शश्वत्तमं हवमानाय साध । स्यान्नः सूनुस्तनयो विजावाग्ने सा ते सुमतिर्भूत्वस्मे ॥

iḻāmagne purudaṃsaṃ saniṃ goḥ śaśvattamaṃ havamānāya sādha | syānnaḥ sūnustanayo vijāvāgne sā te sumatirbhūtvasme ||

Grant, Agni, to the offerer of the oblation earth the giver of cattle, the means of many sacred rites, such that it may long endure; may there be to us sons and grandsons, and may your favour, Agni, be productive of good to us.
