[rv-10-62] • 11 श्लोकाः

ये यज्ञेन दक्षिणया समक्ता इन्द्रस्य सख्यममृतत्वमानश । तेभ्यो भद्रमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः ॥

ye yajñena dakṣiṇayā samaktā indrasya sakhyamamṛtatvamānaśa | tebhyo bhadramaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ ||

You, who associated with sacrifice and pious donations, have acquired the friendship of Indra andimmortality; upon you, Aṅgirasas, may good fortune attend; welcome, sages, the son of Manu.

य उदाजन्पितरो गोमयं वस्वृतेनाभिन्दन्परिवत्सरे वलम् । दीर्घायुत्वमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः ॥

ya udājanpitaro gomayaṃ vasvṛtenābhindanparivatsare valam | dīrghāyutvamaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ ||

May length of life be yours, Aṅgirasas, our progenitors, who drove forth the wealth of cattle, and bymeans of your sacrifice when the year was ended, demolished (the asura) Bala; welcome, sages, the son ofManu.

य ऋतेन सूर्यमारोहयन्दिव्यप्रथयन्पृथिवीं मातरं वि । सुप्रजास्त्वमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः ॥

ya ṛtena sūryamārohayandivyaprathayanpṛthivīṃ mātaraṃ vi | suprajāstvamaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ ||

May the possession of posterity be yours, Aṅgirasas, who elevated by the (power) of sacrifice theSun in heaven, and made the maternal earth renowned; welcome, sages, the son of Manu.

अयं नाभा वदति वल्गु वो गृहे देवपुत्रा ऋषयस्तच्छृणोतन । सुब्रह्मण्यमङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु प्रति गृभ्णीत मानवं सुमेधसः ॥

ayaṃ nābhā vadati valgu vo gṛhe devaputrā ṛṣayastacchṛṇotana | subrahmaṇyamaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ ||

Ṛṣis, sons of the gods, this (Nābhānediṣṭha) addresses to you in the house of (sacrifice) hisbenediction, hear it; may divine splendour, Aṅgirasas, be yours; welcome, sages, the son of Manu.

विरूपास इदृषयस्त इद्गम्भीरवेपसः । ते अङ्गिरसः सूनवस्ते अग्नेः परि जज्ञिरे ॥

virūpāsa idṛṣayasta idgambhīravepasaḥ | te aṅgirasaḥ sūnavaste agneḥ pari jajñire ||

These Ṛṣis, however different in form, were verily of profound piety; they are the Aṅgirasas whohave been born as the sons of Agni.

ये अग्नेः परि जज्ञिरे विरूपासो दिवस्परि । नवग्वो नु दशग्वो अङ्गिरस्तमो सचा देवेषु मंहते ॥

ye agneḥ pari jajñire virūpāso divaspari | navagvo nu daśagvo aṅgirastamo sacā deveṣu maṃhate ||

Among those who have sprung from Agni in many forms, (and spring) from heaven, the chiefAṅgirasa, the celebrator of the nine-month rite, the celebrator of the ten-month rite, accompanied by the godsbestows (upon me wealth).

इन्द्रेण युजा निः सृजन्त वाघतो व्रजं गोमन्तमश्विनम् । सहस्रं मे ददतो अष्टकर्ण्यः श्रवो देवेष्वक्रत ॥

indreṇa yujā niḥ sṛjanta vāghato vrajaṃ gomantamaśvinam | sahasraṃ me dadato aṣṭakarṇyaḥ śravo deveṣvakrata ||

The acceptors of oblations, with Indra for their associate, have emptied pastures crowded with cows,and horses, giving me a thousand full-grown (cattle), they have gained renown among the gods.

प्र नूनं जायतामयं मनुस्तोक्मेव रोहतु । यः सहस्रं शताश्वं सद्यो दानाय मंहते ॥

pra nūnaṃ jāyatāmayaṃ manustokmeva rohatu | yaḥ sahasraṃ śatāśvaṃ sadyo dānāya maṃhate ||

May this Manu (Sāvarṇi) quickly be born, may he increase like (well- watered) seed, who sends meat once a thousand and a hundred horses for a present.

न तमश्नोति कश्चन दिव इव सान्वारभम् । सावर्ण्यस्य दक्षिणा वि सिन्धुरिव पप्रथे ॥

na tamaśnoti kaścana diva iva sānvārabham | sāvarṇyasya dakṣiṇā vi sindhuriva paprathe ||

No one succeeds in reaching him; (elevated) like the summit of heaven, the liberality of Sāvarṇi hasbroadened out like a river.

उत दासा परिविषे स्मद्दिष्टी गोपरीणसा । यदुस्तुर्वश्च मामहे ॥

uta dāsā pariviṣe smaddiṣṭī goparīṇasā | yadusturvaśca māmahe ||

Yadu and Indra speaking auspiciously, and possessed of numerous cattle, gave them like (appointed)servants, for the enjoyment (of Manu Sāvarṇi).

सहस्रदा ग्रामणीर्मा रिषन्मनुः सूर्येणास्य यतमानैतु दक्षिणा । सावर्णेर्देवाः प्र तिरन्त्वायुर्यस्मिन्नश्रान्ता असनाम वाजम् ॥

sahasradā grāmaṇīrmā riṣanmanuḥ sūryeṇāsya yatamānaitu dakṣiṇā | sāvarṇerdevāḥ pra tirantvāyuryasminnaśrāntā asanāma vājam ||

May the donor of a thousand (cows), the head of the district, the Manu, never suffer wrong, may hisliberality go spreading (in glory) with the sun; may the gods prolong the life of Sāvarṇi (from whom) unwearied(in his service) we enjoy abundant food.
