[rv-10-60] • 12 श्लोकाः

आ जनं त्वेषसंदृशं माहीनानामुपस्तुतम् । अगन्म बिभ्रतो नमः ॥

ā janaṃ tveṣasaṃdṛśaṃ māhīnānāmupastutam | aganma bibhrato namaḥ ||

We have come to the person n of splendid appearance, the honoured of the mighty, bringing himreverential homage.

असमातिं नितोशनं त्वेषं निययिनं रथम् । भजेरथस्य सत्पतिम् ॥

asamātiṃ nitośanaṃ tveṣaṃ niyayinaṃ ratham | bhajerathasya satpatim ||

To Asamāti, the destroyer (of foes), radiant, a quick-moving chariot, (for the bringing of benefits),(the descendant) of Bhajeratha, the protector of the good.

यो जनान्महिषाँ इवातितस्थौ पवीरवान् । उतापवीरवान्युधा ॥

yo janānmahiṣā~ ivātitasthau pavīravān | utāpavīravānyudhā ||

Who, whether armed or unarmed with a sword, overcomes adversaries in fight, as (a lion destroys)buffaloes.

यस्येक्ष्वाकुरुप व्रते रेवान्मराय्येधते । दिवीव पञ्च कृष्टयः ॥

yasyekṣvākurupa vrate revānmarāyyedhate | divīva pañca kṛṣṭayaḥ ||

In the good government of whose (realm) the opunlent and victorious Ikṣvāku prospers (so that) thefive orders of men (are as happy) as if they were in heaven.

इन्द्र क्षत्रासमातिषु रथप्रोष्ठेषु धारय । दिवीव सूर्यं दृशे ॥

indra kṣatrāsamātiṣu rathaproṣṭheṣu dhāraya | divīva sūryaṃ dṛśe ||

Maintain, Indra, vigour in the Rathaproṣṭha Asamātis, as (you maintain) the sun in heaven for thesight (of all).

अगस्त्यस्य नद्भ्यः सप्ती युनक्षि रोहिता । पणीन्न्यक्रमीरभि विश्वान्राजन्नराधसः ॥

agastyasya nadbhyaḥ saptī yunakṣi rohitā | paṇīnnyakramīrabhi viśvānrājannarādhasaḥ ||

Yoke the two red horses to your chariot, for the nephews of Agastya, and overcome, rājā, all theniggard withholders of oblations.

अयं मातायं पितायं जीवातुरागमत् । इदं तव प्रसर्पणं सुबन्धवेहि निरिहि ॥

ayaṃ mātāyaṃ pitāyaṃ jīvāturāgamat | idaṃ tava prasarpaṇaṃ subandhavehi nirihi ||

This (Agni) your mother, this your father, this the giver of life to you, has arrived; come back,Subandhu, to this your (body) that is capable of motion. Come forth.

यथा युगं वरत्रया नह्यन्ति धरुणाय कम् । एवा दाधार ते मनो जीवातवे न मृत्यवेऽथो अरिष्टतातये ॥

yathā yugaṃ varatrayā nahyanti dharuṇāya kam | evā dādhāra te mano jīvātave na mṛtyave'tho ariṣṭatātaye ||

Details:

यथेयं पृथिवी मही दाधारेमान्वनस्पतीन् । एवा दाधार ते मनो जीवातवे न मृत्यवेऽथो अरिष्टतातये ॥

yatheyaṃ pṛthivī mahī dādhāremānvanaspatīn | evā dādhāra te mano jīvātave na mṛtyave'tho ariṣṭatātaye ||

Details:

यमादहं वैवस्वतात्सुबन्धोर्मन आभरम् । जीवातवे न मृत्यवेऽथो अरिष्टतातये ॥

yamādahaṃ vaivasvatātsubandhormana ābharam | jīvātave na mṛtyave'tho ariṣṭatātaye ||

(Agni speaks). I bring the spirit of ASubandhu from Yama, the son of Vivasvat, for life, not for death,but for security.

न्यग्वातोऽव वाति न्यक्तपति सूर्यः । नीचीनमघ्न्या दुहे न्यग्भवतु ते रपः ॥

nyagvāto'va vāti nyaktapati sūryaḥ | nīcīnamaghnyā duhe nyagbhavatu te rapaḥ ||

The wind blows downwards, the sun burns downwards, the cow yields her milk downwards, so be(hand) has all medicaments; this has a blessed touch.

अयं मे हस्तो भगवानयं मे भगवत्तरः । अयं मे विश्वभेषजोऽयं शिवाभिमर्शनः ॥

ayaṃ me hasto bhagavānayaṃ me bhagavattaraḥ | ayaṃ me viśvabheṣajo'yaṃ śivābhimarśanaḥ ||
