[rv-10-49] • 11 श्लोकाः

अहं दां गृणते पूर्व्यं वस्वहं ब्रह्म कृणवं मह्यं वर्धनम् । अहं भुवं यजमानस्य चोदितायज्वनः साक्षि विश्वस्मिन्भरे ॥

ahaṃ dāṃ gṛṇate pūrvyaṃ vasvahaṃ brahma kṛṇavaṃ mahyaṃ vardhanam | ahaṃ bhuvaṃ yajamānasya coditāyajvanaḥ sākṣi viśvasminbhare ||

I give excellent treasure to him who praises me, I render sacred prayer (a source) of greatness tomyself, I am the instrumental gator of the worshipper; I am the discomfiter in every battle of him who does not worship.

मां धुरिन्द्रं नाम देवता दिवश्च ग्मश्चापां च जन्तवः । अहं हरी वृषणा विव्रता रघू अहं वज्रं शवसे धृष्ण्वा ददे ॥

māṃ dhurindraṃ nāma devatā divaśca gmaścāpāṃ ca jantavaḥ | ahaṃ harī vṛṣaṇā vivratā raghū ahaṃ vajraṃ śavase dhṛṣṇvā dade ||

Those born in heaven, in earth, and in the firmament, support me, whose name is Indra among thedeities (by their offerings). I (harness to my car) two bay steeds vigorous, many-functioned, rapid; I wield for mystrength the fearful thunderbolt.

अहमत्कं कवये शिश्नथं हथैरहं कुत्समावमाभिरूतिभिः । अहं शुष्णस्य श्नथिता वधर्यमं न यो रर आर्यं नाम दस्यवे ॥

ahamatkaṃ kavaye śiśnathaṃ hathairahaṃ kutsamāvamābhirūtibhiḥ | ahaṃ śuṣṇasya śnathitā vadharyamaṃ na yo rara āryaṃ nāma dasyave ||

I smote Atka with many weapons for the defence of the sage; with those protections I preserved Kutsa;I am the slayer of Śuṣṇa; I grasped the thunderbolt I who have not given the water (nāma) of the Āryas to theDasyu.

अहं पितेव वेतसूँरभिष्टये तुग्रं कुत्साय स्मदिभं च रन्धयम् । अहं भुवं यजमानस्य राजनि प्र यद्भरे तुजये न प्रियाधृषे ॥

ahaṃ piteva vetasū~rabhiṣṭaye tugraṃ kutsāya smadibhaṃ ca randhayam | ahaṃ bhuvaṃ yajamānasya rājani pra yadbhare tujaye na priyādhṛṣe ||

Like a father (for a son), I brought under subjection to Kutsa, at his desire, the Vetasūs and Tugraand Smadibha I have been in plural ce of a sovereign to the worshipper when I bring (to him) as to a son acceptable(gifts) for assailing (his enemies).

अहं रन्धयं मृगयं श्रुतर्वणे यन्माजिहीत वयुना चनानुषक् । अहं वेशं नम्रमायवेऽकरमहं सव्याय पड्गृभिमरन्धयम् ॥

ahaṃ randhayaṃ mṛgayaṃ śrutarvaṇe yanmājihīta vayunā canānuṣak | ahaṃ veśaṃ namramāyave'karamahaṃ savyāya paḍgṛbhimarandhayam ||

I have brought Mṛgaya under subjection to Śrutarvan; when he came to me, (he was) earnestlyengaged in supplication. I humiliated Veśa for Āyu; I subjugated Padgṛbhi for Savya.

अहं स यो नववास्त्वं बृहद्रथं सं वृत्रेव दासं वृत्रहारुजम् । यद्वर्धयन्तं प्रथयन्तमानुषग्दूरे पारे रजसो रोचनाकरम् ॥

ahaṃ sa yo navavāstvaṃ bṛhadrathaṃ saṃ vṛtreva dāsaṃ vṛtrahārujam | yadvardhayantaṃ prathayantamānuṣagdūre pāre rajaso rocanākaram ||

I, the slayer of Vṛtra, am he who crushed Navavāstva and Bṛhadratha, (who crushed) Dāsa like aVṛtra, when I drove to the distant shore of the shining world, (both) my augmenting and outstretched (foes) oneafter the other.

अहं सूर्यस्य परि याम्याशुभिः प्रैतशेभिर्वहमान ओजसा । यन्मा सावो मनुष आह निर्णिज ऋधक्कृषे दासं कृत्व्यं हथैः ॥

ahaṃ sūryasya pari yāmyāśubhiḥ praitaśebhirvahamāna ojasā | yanmā sāvo manuṣa āha nirṇija ṛdhakkṛṣe dāsaṃ kṛtvyaṃ hathaiḥ ||

Conveyed by the swift white horses of Sūrya, I hasten forth by my power; when the effused libation ofa man invokes me to the brilliant form of the sacrifice, I drive off with my weapons the destroyer who is to beslain.

अहं सप्तहा नहुषो नहुष्टरः प्राश्रावयं शवसा तुर्वशं यदुम् । अहं न्यन्यं सहसा सहस्करं नव व्राधतो नवतिं च वक्षयम् ॥

ahaṃ saptahā nahuṣo nahuṣṭaraḥ prāśrāvayaṃ śavasā turvaśaṃ yadum | ahaṃ nyanyaṃ sahasā sahaskaraṃ nava vrādhato navatiṃ ca vakṣayam ||

I am the slayer of seven (asuras); I am the especial bond of bonds; I have made Turvaśa and Yadufamous through prowess; I have strengthened another (worshipper) with strength; I have demolished ninety andnine powerful (foes).

अहं सप्त स्रवतो धारयं वृषा द्रवित्न्वः पृथिव्यां सीरा अधि । अहमर्णांसि वि तिरामि सुक्रतुर्युधा विदं मनवे गातुमिष्टये ॥

ahaṃ sapta sravato dhārayaṃ vṛṣā dravitnvaḥ pṛthivyāṃ sīrā adhi | ahamarṇāṃsi vi tirāmi sukraturyudhā vidaṃ manave gātumiṣṭaye ||

The showerer (of rain), I supported the seven rivers flowing and meandering over the earth; doer ofgood deeds, I spread out the waters; I found by war a path for man to go in.

अहं तदासु धारयं यदासु न देवश्चन त्वष्टाधारयद्रुशत् । स्पार्हं गवामूधस्सु वक्षणास्वा मधोर्मधु श्वात्र्यं सोममाशिरम् ॥

ahaṃ tadāsu dhārayaṃ yadāsu na devaścana tvaṣṭādhārayadruśat | spārhaṃ gavāmūdhassu vakṣaṇāsvā madhormadhu śvātryaṃ somamāśiram ||

I have kept up in them that which no deity, not even Tvaṣṭā, has maintained, bright, desirable,(contained) in the udders of the cows; in the rivers (I uphold) the water up to the (source of the) water, thedelightful Soma and the milk and curds.

एवा देवाँ इन्द्रो विव्ये नॄन्प्र च्यौत्नेन मघवा सत्यराधाः । विश्वेत्ता ते हरिवः शचीवोऽभि तुरासः स्वयशो गृणन्ति ॥

evā devā~ indro vivye nṝnpra cyautnena maghavā satyarādhāḥ | viśvettā te harivaḥ śacīvo'bhi turāsaḥ svayaśo gṛṇanti ||
