[rv-10-47] • 8 श्लोकाः

जगृभ्मा ते दक्षिणमिन्द्र हस्तं वसूयवो वसुपते वसूनाम् । विद्मा हि त्वा गोपतिं शूर गोनामस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

jagṛbhmā te dakṣiṇamindra hastaṃ vasūyavo vasupate vasūnām | vidmā hi tvā gopatiṃ śūra gonāmasmabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

Indra, lord of abundant wealth, we, desiring wealth, seize hold of your right hand; we know you, hero,lord of abundant cattle, give us various fertilizing riches.

स्वायुधं स्ववसं सुनीथं चतुःसमुद्रं धरुणं रयीणाम् । चर्कृत्यं शंस्यं भूरिवारमस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

svāyudhaṃ svavasaṃ sunīthaṃ catuḥsamudraṃ dharuṇaṃ rayīṇām | carkṛtyaṃ śaṃsyaṃ bhūrivāramasmabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

(We know you to be) well armed, a sure protector, a safe guide, (renowned throughout) the fouroceans, the depositary of riches, deserving of repeated worship, adorable, the preventer of many (ills); grant usvarious fertilizing riches.

सुब्रह्माणं देववन्तं बृहन्तमुरुं गभीरं पृथुबुध्नमिन्द्र । श्रुतऋषिमुग्रमभिमातिषाहमस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

subrahmāṇaṃ devavantaṃ bṛhantamuruṃ gabhīraṃ pṛthubudhnamindra | śrutaṛṣimugramabhimātiṣāhamasmabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

Grant us, Indra, various fertilizing riches, the fit object of prayer, honoured by the gods, large, vast,

सनद्वाजं विप्रवीरं तरुत्रं धनस्पृतं शूशुवांसं सुदक्षम् । दस्युहनं पूर्भिदमिन्द्र सत्यमस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

sanadvājaṃ vipravīraṃ tarutraṃ dhanaspṛtaṃ śūśuvāṃsaṃ sudakṣam | dasyuhanaṃ pūrbhidamindra satyamasmabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

Grant us, Indra, various fertilizing riches, dispensing food, comprising intelligent male offspring, theprotector, filling men with wealth, the granter of increase, the very powerful, the slayer of the Dasyus, thedestroyer of cities, the observer of truth.

अश्वावन्तं रथिनं वीरवन्तं सहस्रिणं शतिनं वाजमिन्द्र । भद्रव्रातं विप्रवीरं स्वर्षामस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

aśvāvantaṃ rathinaṃ vīravantaṃ sahasriṇaṃ śatinaṃ vājamindra | bhadravrātaṃ vipravīraṃ svarṣāmasmabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

Grant us, Indra, various fettilizing wealth, consisting of horses, of chariots, of valiant followers, ofthousands, of hundreds (of cattle), surrounded by beautiful attendants, endowed with sages and heroes, theenjoyer of all (benefits).

प्र सप्तगुमृतधीतिं सुमेधां बृहस्पतिं मतिरच्छा जिगाति । य आङ्गिरसो नमसोपसद्योऽस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

pra saptagumṛtadhītiṃ sumedhāṃ bṛhaspatiṃ matiracchā jigāti | ya āṅgiraso namasopasadyo'smabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

The praise (addressed to the gods) comes to the presence of Saptagu, the observer of the truth, theintelligent, the lord of much (praise), who, being of the family of Aṅgirasa, has approached (the gods) withoblations; do you, (Indra) grant me various fertilizing riches.

वनीवानो मम दूतास इन्द्रं स्तोमाश्चरन्ति सुमतीरियानाः । हृदिस्पृशो मनसा वच्यमाना अस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

vanīvāno mama dūtāsa indraṃ stomāścaranti sumatīriyānāḥ | hṛdispṛśo manasā vacyamānā asmabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

My praises, (my) messengers soliciting ((audience), come to Indra, praying (his) favourable (thoughts),heart-touching, spoken from the soul; (therefore, Indra) grant me various fertilizing riches.

यत्त्वा यामि दद्धि तन्न इन्द्र बृहन्तं क्षयमसमं जनानाम् । अभि तद्द्यावापृथिवी गृणीतामस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाः ॥

yattvā yāmi daddhi tanna indra bṛhantaṃ kṣayamasamaṃ janānām | abhi taddyāvāpṛthivī gṛṇītāmasmabhyaṃ citraṃ vṛṣaṇaṃ rayiṃ dāḥ ||

Bestow, Indra, that which I solicit of you; a large mansion, not held in common with other men; andmay heaven and earth approve of it; grant us, (Indra), various fertilizing riches.
