ऋग्वेद 10.187 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

प्राग्नये वाचमीरय वृषभाय क्षितीनाम् । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः ॥

prāgnaye vācamīraya vṛṣabhāya kṣitīnām | sa naḥ parṣadati dviṣaḥ ||

Raise the hymn to Agni, the benefactor of mankind; may he bear us (safe) beyond (the reach of) thosewho hate us.

यः परस्याः परावतस्तिरो धन्वातिरोचते । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः ॥

yaḥ parasyāḥ parāvatastiro dhanvātirocate | sa naḥ parṣadati dviṣaḥ ||

May (Agni), who from a great distance shines fiercely upon the desert tract that he has attained, bearus (safe) beyond (the reach of) those who hate us.

यो रक्षांसि निजूर्वति वृषा शुक्रेण शोचिषा । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः ॥

yo rakṣāṃsi nijūrvati vṛṣā śukreṇa śociṣā | sa naḥ parṣadati dviṣaḥ ||

May (Agni), the showerer of benefits, who, his pure radiance destroys the rākṣasas, bear us (safe)beyond (the reach of) those who hate us.

यो विश्वाभि विपश्यति भुवना सं च पश्यति । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः ॥

yo viśvābhi vipaśyati bhuvanā saṃ ca paśyati | sa naḥ parṣadati dviṣaḥ ||

The Agni that glances at all the lokas, should protect us from the ill-will of enemies.

यो अस्य पारे रजसः शुक्रो अग्निरजायत । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः ॥

yo asya pāre rajasaḥ śukro agnirajāyata | sa naḥ parṣadati dviṣaḥ ||

The Agni that appears in the celestial sphere above us in the form of illumined light, should protect usfrom all kinds of sorrows and troubles.
