ऋग्वेद 10.152 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

शास इत्था महाँ अस्यमित्रखादो अद्भुतः । न यस्य हन्यते सखा न जीयते कदा चन ॥

śāsa itthā mahā~ asyamitrakhādo adbhutaḥ | na yasya hanyate sakhā na jīyate kadā cana ||

Śāsa thus (praise Indra); you are mighty, the destroyer of foes, the wonderful, (he) whose friend isnot killed nor ever overpowered.

स्वस्तिदा विशस्पतिर्वृत्रहा विमृधो वशी । वृषेन्द्रः पुर एतु नः सोमपा अभयंकरः ॥

svastidā viśaspatirvṛtrahā vimṛdho vaśī | vṛṣendraḥ pura etu naḥ somapā abhayaṃkaraḥ ||

May Indra, the granter of prosperity, the lord of men, the slayer of Vṛtra, the warrior, the subduer, theshowerer, the drinker of the Soma, the assurer of safety, come to our presence.

वि रक्षो वि मृधो जहि वि वृत्रस्य हनू रुज । वि मन्युमिन्द्र वृत्रहन्नमित्रस्याभिदासतः ॥

vi rakṣo vi mṛdho jahi vi vṛtrasya hanū ruja | vi manyumindra vṛtrahannamitrasyābhidāsataḥ ||

Destroy, Indra, the rākṣasas, the enemies; fracture the jaws of Vṛtra; baffle, indra, slayer of Vṛtra,the wrath of (our) menacing foe.

वि न इन्द्र मृधो जहि नीचा यच्छ पृतन्यतः । यो अस्माँ अभिदासत्यधरं गमया तमः ॥

vi na indra mṛdho jahi nīcā yaccha pṛtanyataḥ | yo asmā~ abhidāsatyadharaṃ gamayā tamaḥ ||

Destroy, Indra, our enemies; hunt down those who are in array against us; consign to lower darknesshim who seeks to harm us.

अपेन्द्र द्विषतो मनोऽप जिज्यासतो वधम् । वि मन्योः शर्म यच्छ वरीयो यवया वधम् ॥

apendra dviṣato mano'pa jijyāsato vadham | vi manyoḥ śarma yaccha varīyo yavayā vadham ||

Frustrate the purpose of him who hates us, (baffle) the weapon of him who seeks to overpower us,grant us entire security from his wrath of (his) weapon.
