[rv-10-131] • 7 श्लोकाः

अप प्राच इन्द्र विश्वाँ अमित्रानपापाचो अभिभूते नुदस्व । अपोदीचो अप शूराधराच उरौ यथा तव शर्मन्मदेम ॥

apa prāca indra viśvā~ amitrānapāpāco abhibhūte nudasva | apodīco apa śūrādharāca urau yathā tava śarmanmadema ||

Victorious Indra, drive off all our foes, those who dwell in the east, and those who dwell in the west,(drive) off, O hero, those who dwell in the north, and those who dwell in the south, that we may rejoice in yourexceeding felicity.

कुविदङ्ग यवमन्तो यवं चिद्यथा दान्त्यनुपूर्वं वियूय । इहेहैषां कृणुहि भोजनानि ये बर्हिषो नमोवृक्तिं न जग्मुः ॥

kuvidaṅga yavamanto yavaṃ cidyathā dāntyanupūrvaṃ viyūya | ihehaiṣāṃ kṛṇuhi bhojanāni ye barhiṣo namovṛktiṃ na jagmuḥ ||

As the growers of barley often cut the barley, separating it uin due order, so do you, (O Indra), bestowhere and there nourishment upon those who have not neglected the performance of the sacrifice.

नहि स्थूर्यृतुथा यातमस्ति नोत श्रवो विविदे संगमेषु । गव्यन्त इन्द्रं सख्याय विप्रा अश्वायन्तो वृषणं वाजयन्तः ॥

nahi sthūryṛtuthā yātamasti nota śravo vivide saṃgameṣu | gavyanta indraṃ sakhyāya viprā aśvāyanto vṛṣaṇaṃ vājayantaḥ ||

The cart has not arrived in due season, nor does he acquire fame in battles, (let us), the sages,desiring cattle, desiring horses, desiring food, (solicit) Indra, the showerer, for his friendship.

युवं सुराममश्विना नमुचावासुरे सचा । विपिपाना शुभस्पती इन्द्रं कर्मस्वावतम् ॥

yuvaṃ surāmamaśvinā namucāvāsure sacā | vipipānā śubhaspatī indraṃ karmasvāvatam ||

You, O Aśvins, lords of light, having drunk the grateful (libation), jointly preserved Indra in battleagainst the Asura Namuci.

पुत्रमिव पितरावश्विनोभेन्द्रावथुः काव्यैर्दंसनाभिः । यत्सुरामं व्यपिबः शचीभिः सरस्वती त्वा मघवन्नभिष्णक् ॥

putramiva pitarāvaśvinobhendrāvathuḥ kāvyairdaṃsanābhiḥ | yatsurāmaṃ vyapibaḥ śacībhiḥ sarasvatī tvā maghavannabhiṣṇak ||

Both the Aśvins defended (you), Indra, like two fathers (defending) a son with glorious exploits; when(triumphing) through the deeds of valour, you drank the grateful libation, Sarasvatī approached you, OMaghavat.

इन्द्रः सुत्रामा स्ववाँ अवोभिः सुमृऴीको भवतु विश्ववेदाः । बाधतां द्वेषो अभयं कृणोतु सुवीर्यस्य पतयः स्याम ॥

indraḥ sutrāmā svavā~ avobhiḥ sumṛḻīko bhavatu viśvavedāḥ | bādhatāṃ dveṣo abhayaṃ kṛṇotu suvīryasya patayaḥ syāma ||

May Indra, the protector, the possessor of treat wealth, the all- knowing, be favourable (to us) with hisprotections; may he confound our enemies, may he make us free from fear, may we be the parents of excellentmale offspring.

तस्य वयं सुमतौ यज्ञियस्यापि भद्रे सौमनसे स्याम । स सुत्रामा स्ववाँ इन्द्रो अस्मे आराच्चिद्द्वेषः सनुतर्युयोतु ॥

tasya vayaṃ sumatau yajñiyasyāpi bhadre saumanase syāma | sa sutrāmā svavā~ indro asme ārācciddveṣaḥ sanutaryuyotu ||

May we be ever in (the enjoyment of) the favour of that adorable divinity (retained) in his favourablethoughts, and may the protecting and opulent Indra drive away far off us those who hate us.
