[rv-10-128] • 9 श्लोकाः

ममाग्ने वर्चो विहवेष्वस्तु वयं त्वेन्धानास्तन्वं पुषेम । मह्यं नमन्तां प्रदिशश्चतस्रस्त्वयाध्यक्षेण पृतना जयेम ॥

mamāgne varco vihaveṣvastu vayaṃ tvendhānāstanvaṃ puṣema | mahyaṃ namantāṃ pradiśaścatasrastvayādhyakṣeṇa pṛtanā jayema ||

May glory Agni, be mine in battle, may we, kindling you, cherish your person n, may the (inhabitants ofthe) four quarters bow down before me, may we with you for our leader overcome (hostile) armies.

मम देवा विहवे सन्तु सर्व इन्द्रवन्तो मरुतो विष्णुरग्निः । ममान्तरिक्षमुरुलोकमस्तु मह्यं वातः पवतां कामे अस्मिन् ॥

mama devā vihave santu sarva indravanto maruto viṣṇuragniḥ | mamāntarikṣamurulokamastu mahyaṃ vātaḥ pavatāṃ kāme asmin ||

May all the gods be on my side in battle, the Maruts with Indra, Viṣṇu and Agni; may the expandedfirmament be mine, may the wind blow (propitiously) to this my desire.

मयि देवा द्रविणमा यजन्तां मय्याशीरस्तु मयि देवहूतिः । दैव्या होतारो वनुषन्त पूर्वेऽरिष्टाः स्याम तन्वा सुवीराः ॥

mayi devā draviṇamā yajantāṃ mayyāśīrastu mayi devahūtiḥ | daivyā hotāro vanuṣanta pūrve'riṣṭāḥ syāma tanvā suvīrāḥ ||

May the gods bestow wealth upon me, may (their) blessing be upon me, may the sacrifice in which thegods are invoked be (beneficial) to me, may my invokers of the gods be the first to propitiate them; may we beunharmed in body and blessed with male offspring.

मह्यं यजन्तु मम यानि हव्याकूतिः सत्या मनसो मे अस्तु । एनो मा नि गां कतमच्चनाहं विश्वे देवासो अधि वोचता नः ॥

mahyaṃ yajantu mama yāni havyākūtiḥ satyā manaso me astu | eno mā ni gāṃ katamaccanāhaṃ viśve devāso adhi vocatā naḥ ||

May (my priests) offer for me whatever oblations of mine (there may be); may the purpose of my mindbe sincere; may I not fall into any kind of sin; universal gods, bless us.

देवीः षऴुर्वीरुरु नः कृणोत विश्वे देवास इह वीरयध्वम् । मा हास्महि प्रजया मा तनूभिर्मा रधाम द्विषते सोम राजन् ॥

devīḥ ṣaḻurvīruru naḥ kṛṇota viśve devāsa iha vīrayadhvam | mā hāsmahi prajayā mā tanūbhirmā radhāma dviṣate soma rājan ||

You six mighty goddesses, bestow upon us ample (wealth); universal gods, display prowess here; letus not be bereft of our offspring, or be harmed in our bodies, may we not become subject to our enemy, royalSoma.

अग्ने मन्युं प्रतिनुदन्परेषामदब्धो गोपाः परि पाहि नस्त्वम् । प्रत्यञ्चो यन्तु निगुतः पुनस्तेऽमैषां चित्तं प्रबुधां वि नेशत् ॥

agne manyuṃ pratinudanpareṣāmadabdho gopāḥ pari pāhi nastvam | pratyañco yantu nigutaḥ punaste'maiṣāṃ cittaṃ prabudhāṃ vi neśat ||

Agni, who are an invincible protector, do you defend us, baffling the wrath of our enemies; let themreturn grumbling to their homes, may the intelligence of those watchful (foes) be at once destroyed.

धाता धातॄणां भुवनस्य यस्पतिर्देवं त्रातारमभिमातिषाहम् । इमं यज्ञमश्विनोभा बृहस्पतिर्देवाः पान्तु यजमानं न्यर्थात् ॥

dhātā dhātṝṇāṃ bhuvanasya yaspatirdevaṃ trātāramabhimātiṣāham | imaṃ yajñamaśvinobhā bṛhaspatirdevāḥ pāntu yajamānaṃ nyarthāt ||

The creator of creators, he who is the protector of the universe, (him I praise), the divine defender, thedestroyer of enemies; may the two Aśvins, Bṛhaspati, and the gods, protect this sacrifice, and save the sacrificerfrom disappointment.

उरुव्यचा नो महिषः शर्म यंसदस्मिन्हवे पुरुहूतः पुरुक्षुः । स नः प्रजायै हर्यश्व मृऴयेन्द्र मा नो रीरिषो मा परा दाः ॥

uruvyacā no mahiṣaḥ śarma yaṃsadasminhave puruhūtaḥ purukṣuḥ | sa naḥ prajāyai haryaśva mṛḻayendra mā no rīriṣo mā parā dāḥ ||

May the omnipresent (Indra), the mighty one, who is invoked by many, and lauded by many, bestow ablessing on this our sacrifice; be gracious to our offspring, Indra, lord of bay horses; harm us not, desert us not.

ये नः सपत्ना अप ते भवन्त्विन्द्राग्निभ्यामव बाधामहे तान् । वसवो रुद्रा आदित्या उपरिस्पृशं मोग्रं चेत्तारमधिराजमक्रन् ॥

ye naḥ sapatnā apa te bhavantvindrāgnibhyāmava bādhāmahe tān | vasavo rudrā ādityā uparispṛśaṃ mograṃ cettāramadhirājamakran ||

May those who are our foes be driven off; may we through Indra and Agni destroy them; may theVasus, the Rudras, and the Ādityas make me the high- reaching, fierce, intelligent, supreme ruler.
