[rv-1-180] • 10 श्लोकाः

युवो रजांसि सुयमासो अश्वा रथो यद्वां पर्यर्णांसि दीयत् । हिरण्यया वां पवयः प्रुषायन्मध्वः पिबन्ता उषसः सचेथे ॥

yuvo rajāṃsi suyamāso aśvā ratho yadvāṃ paryarṇāṃsi dīyat | hiraṇyayā vāṃ pavayaḥ pruṣāyanmadhvaḥ pibantā uṣasaḥ sacethe ||

Aśvins, your horses are traversers of the (three) regions, when your chariot proceeds to (its desired) quarters; the golden fellies of your wheels grant (whatever is wished for); drinking the Soma, you participate in the morning (rite).

युवमत्यस्याव नक्षथो यद्विपत्मनो नर्यस्य प्रयज्योः । स्वसा यद्वां विश्वगूर्ती भराति वाजायेट्टे मधुपाविषे च ॥

yuvamatyasyāva nakṣatho yadvipatmano naryasya prayajyoḥ | svasā yadvāṃ viśvagūrtī bharāti vājāyeṭṭe madhupāviṣe ca ||

Direct downwards (the course) of your (car) swift moving, variously going, friendly to man, and to be especially venerated, when all adorable, your sister (dawn) prepares (for your approach), and (the instrumental tutor of the ceremony) worships you, drinkers of the Soma, for the sake (of obtaining) strength and food.

युवं पय उस्रियायामधत्तं पक्वमामायामव पूर्व्यं गोः । अन्तर्यद्वनिनो वामृतप्सू ह्वारो न शुचिर्यजते हविष्मान् ॥

yuvaṃ paya usriyāyāmadhattaṃ pakvamāmāyāmava pūrvyaṃ goḥ | antaryadvanino vāmṛtapsū hvāro na śuciryajate haviṣmān ||

Youhave restored milk to the cow; you have (brought) down the prior mature (secretion) into the unripe (or barren udder) of the cow; the devout offerer of the oblation worships you, whose forms are truth, (as vigilant in the midst of the ceremony), as a thief (in the midst) of a thicket.

युवं ह घर्मं मधुमन्तमत्रयेऽपो न क्षोदोऽवृणीतमेषे । तद्वां नरावश्विना पश्वैष्टी रथ्येव चक्रा प्रति यन्ति मध्वः ॥

yuvaṃ ha gharmaṃ madhumantamatraye'po na kṣodo'vṛṇītameṣe | tadvāṃ narāvaśvinā paśvaiṣṭī rathyeva cakrā prati yanti madhvaḥ ||

You rendered the heat as soothing as sweet butter to Atri; wishing (for relief), and invested it with coolness,like water; therefore, for you, Aśvins, leaders (of rites) the fire-offering (is made); to you the Soma (drips) run like chariot wheels (down a declivity).

आ वां दानाय ववृतीय दस्रा गोरोहेण तौग्र्यो न जिव्रिः । अपः क्षोणी सचते माहिना वां जूर्णो वामक्षुरंहसो यजत्रा ॥

ā vāṃ dānāya vavṛtīya dasrā goroheṇa taugryo na jivriḥ | apaḥ kṣoṇī sacate māhinā vāṃ jūrṇo vāmakṣuraṃhaso yajatrā ||

Dasras, may I bring you, by the vehicle of my prayers, (hither), to bestow (upon me your aid), like the infirm son of Tugra; heaven and earth combine (to worship you) through your greatness; may this, your aged (worshipper), adorable (Aśvins), enjoy long life, (exempt) from sin.

नि यद्युवेथे नियुतः सुदानू उप स्वधाभिः सृजथः पुरंधिम् । प्रेषद्वेषद्वातो न सूरिरा महे ददे सुव्रतो न वाजम् ॥

ni yadyuvethe niyutaḥ sudānū upa svadhābhiḥ sṛjathaḥ puraṃdhim | preṣadveṣadvāto na sūrirā mahe dade suvrato na vājam ||

Bountiful givers, when you yoke your horses you replenish the earth with viands; may this your worshipper be (swift) as the wind to propitiate and plural ase you, that, through your great (favour), he may, like a pious man, obtain food.

वयं चिद्धि वां जरितारः सत्या विपन्यामहे वि पणिर्हितावान् । अधा चिद्धि ष्माश्विनावनिन्द्या पाथो हि ष्मा वृषणावन्तिदेवम् ॥

vayaṃ ciddhi vāṃ jaritāraḥ satyā vipanyāmahe vi paṇirhitāvān | adhā ciddhi ṣmāśvināvanindyā pātho hi ṣmā vṛṣaṇāvantidevam ||

Your sincere adorers, we verily praise you in various ways. The pitcher has been plural ced (ready for the Soma). Irreproachable Aśvins, showerers (of benefits) drink freely of the juice in the presence of the gods.

युवां चिद्धि ष्माश्विनावनु द्यून्विरुद्रस्य प्रस्रवणस्य सातौ । अगस्त्यो नरां नृषु प्रशस्तः काराधुनीव चितयत्सहस्रैः ॥

yuvāṃ ciddhi ṣmāśvināvanu dyūnvirudrasya prasravaṇasya sātau | agastyo narāṃ nṛṣu praśastaḥ kārādhunīva citayatsahasraiḥ ||

Aśvins, Agastya, eminent among the leader of men, arouses you daily with numerous (invocations) like an instrumental ument of sound, for the sake of obtaining a manifold (flow) of a torrent (of rain).

प्र यद्वहेथे महिना रथस्य प्र स्यन्द्रा याथो मनुषो न होता । धत्तं सूरिभ्य उत वा स्वश्व्यं नासत्या रयिषाचः स्याम ॥

pra yadvahethe mahinā rathasya pra syandrā yātho manuṣo na hotā | dhattaṃ sūribhya uta vā svaśvyaṃ nāsatyā rayiṣācaḥ syāma ||

When, by the virtue of your chariot, you come (to the sacrifice), and when, like the ministering priest (after discharging his rfunction), you depart, gliding away, you give to the devout (worshippers a reward), thogh it be store of good horses; may we be enriched, Nāsatyās (by your favour).

तं वां रथं वयमद्या हुवेम स्तोमैरश्विना सुविताय नव्यम् । अरिष्टनेमिं परि द्यामियानं विद्यामेषं वृजनं जीरदानुम् ॥

taṃ vāṃ rathaṃ vayamadyā huvema stomairaśvinā suvitāya navyam | ariṣṭanemiṃ pari dyāmiyānaṃ vidyāmeṣaṃ vṛjanaṃ jīradānum ||

We invoke today, Aśvins, with hymns, for the sake of good things, your praiseworthy chariot of undamaged wheels, and traversing the sky, that we may obtain (from it) food, strength and long life.
