समिद्धो अग्न आ वह देवाँ अद्य यतस्रुचे । तन्तुं तनुष्व पूर्व्यं सुतसोमाय दाशुषे ॥

samiddho agna ā vaha devā~ adya yatasruce | tantuṃ tanuṣva pūrvyaṃ sutasomāya dāśuṣe ||

Agni, who are samiddha, bring the gods today (to the worshipper), whose ladle is uplifted; extent (the merit of) former sacrificer to the giver (of the offering), by whom the Soma is poured forth.

घृतवन्तमुप मासि मधुमन्तं तनूनपात् । यज्ञं विप्रस्य मावतः शशमानस्य दाशुषः ॥

ghṛtavantamupa māsi madhumantaṃ tanūnapāt | yajñaṃ viprasya māvataḥ śaśamānasya dāśuṣaḥ ||

Tanūnapāt, be present at this well-flavoured and cutter-fed sacrifice, (the offering) of a pious offerer (of oblations); glorifying you.

शुचिः पावको अद्भुतो मध्वा यज्ञं मिमिक्षति । नराशंसस्त्रिरा दिवो देवो देवेषु यज्ञियः ॥

śuciḥ pāvako adbhuto madhvā yajñaṃ mimikṣati | narāśaṃsastrirā divo devo deveṣu yajñiyaḥ ||

The pure, purifying, wonderful Narāśaṃsa, an adorable god among gods, (having come) from heaven, thrice mixes the sacrifice with the sweet (Soma).

ईऴितो अग्न आ वहेन्द्रं चित्रमिह प्रियम् । इयं हि त्वा मतिर्ममाच्छा सुजिह्व वच्यते ॥

īḻito agna ā vahendraṃ citramiha priyam | iyaṃ hi tvā matirmamācchā sujihva vacyate ||

Agni, who are Iḷita, bring hither Indra, the wonderful, the beloved; this my praise is recited, bright-tongued, before you.

स्तृणानासो यतस्रुचो बर्हिर्यज्ञे स्वध्वरे । वृञ्जे देवव्यचस्तममिन्द्राय शर्म सप्रथः ॥

stṛṇānāso yatasruco barhiryajñe svadhvare | vṛñje devavyacastamamindrāya śarma saprathaḥ ||

The priests, bearing ladles, are strewing the sacred grass in this holy sacrifice, to prepare a god-frequented and well-spread abode for Indra.

वि श्रयन्तामृतावृधः प्रयै देवेभ्यो महीः । पावकासः पुरुस्पृहो द्वारो देवीरसश्चतः ॥

vi śrayantāmṛtāvṛdhaḥ prayai devebhyo mahīḥ | pāvakāsaḥ puruspṛho dvāro devīrasaścataḥ ||

Let the bright, separable doors, the augmenters of sacrifice, the purifiers of rites, the desired of many, be set open for the gods to enter.

आ भन्दमाने उपाके नक्तोषासा सुपेशसा । यह्वी ऋतस्य मातरा सीदतां बर्हिरा सुमत् ॥

ā bhandamāne upāke naktoṣāsā supeśasā | yahvī ṛtasya mātarā sīdatāṃ barhirā sumat ||

Beautiful night and morning, ever hymned, ever associated, progeny (yahuḥ sunuḥ--Nirukta 2.2.11) (of time), parents of sacrifice, sit down of your own good will on the sacred grass.

मन्द्रजिह्वा जुगुर्वणी होतारा दैव्या कवी । यज्ञं नो यक्षतामिमं सिध्रमद्य दिविस्पृशम् ॥

mandrajihvā jugurvaṇī hotārā daivyā kavī | yajñaṃ no yakṣatāmimaṃ sidhramadya divispṛśam ||

May the two plural asing-tongued receivers of praise, the divine and sage invokers (of the gods), officiate today at this our sacrifice, which confers (rewards) and attains heaven.

शुचिर्देवेष्वर्पिता होत्रा मरुत्सु भारती । इऴा सरस्वती मही बर्हिः सीदन्तु यज्ञियाः ॥

śucirdeveṣvarpitā hotrā marutsu bhāratī | iḻā sarasvatī mahī barhiḥ sīdantu yajñiyāḥ ||

May the pure hotā, plural ced among the gods, and Bhāratī, among the Maruts, and may the adorable Iḷā, Sarasvatī, Mahī, sit down upon the sacred grass.

तन्नस्तुरीपमद्भुतं पुरु वारं पुरु त्मना । त्वष्टा पोषाय वि ष्यतु राये नाभा नो अस्मयुः ॥

tannasturīpamadbhutaṃ puru vāraṃ puru tmanā | tvaṣṭā poṣāya vi ṣyatu rāye nābhā no asmayuḥ ||

May Tvaṣṭā, favourably disposed towards us, send to us, for our nourishment and prosperity, the quick (falling), wonderful, abundant (water), in the centre (of the cloud, effecting), of itself much (good).

अवसृजन्नुप त्मना देवान्यक्षि वनस्पते । अग्निर्हव्या सुषूदति देवो देवेषु मेधिरः ॥

avasṛjannupa tmanā devānyakṣi vanaspate | agnirhavyā suṣūdati devo deveṣu medhiraḥ ||

Vanaspati, here present of your own accord, convey our offerings to the gods; the divine and intelligent Agni accepts (the oblations) for the deities.

पूषण्वते मरुत्वते विश्वदेवाय वायवे । स्वाहा गायत्रवेपसे हव्यमिन्द्राय कर्तन ॥

pūṣaṇvate marutvate viśvadevāya vāyave | svāhā gāyatravepase havyamindrāya kartana ||

(Priests), present the oblation with svāhā to Indra, in the form of Gāyatra, along with Pūṣan and the Maruts; also to the assembled gods, and the Vāyu.

स्वाहाकृतान्या गह्युप हव्यानि वीतये । इन्द्रा गहि श्रुधी हवं त्वां हवन्ते अध्वरे ॥

svāhākṛtānyā gahyupa havyāni vītaye | indrā gahi śrudhī havaṃ tvāṃ havante adhvare ||

Approach, Indra, to partake of the oblations consecrated with svāhā; approach and hear the invocation, as they invoke you to the sacrifice.
