नासत्याभ्यां बर्हिरिव प्र वृञ्जे स्तोमाँ इयर्म्यभ्रियेव वातः । यावर्भगाय विमदाय जायां सेनाजुवा न्यूहतू रथेन ॥

nāsatyābhyāṃ barhiriva pra vṛñje stomā~ iyarmyabhriyeva vātaḥ | yāvarbhagāya vimadāya jāyāṃ senājuvā nyūhatū rathena ||

In like manner as a worshipper strews the sacred grass for the Nāsatyas, so do I urge on their laudations, as the wind drives on the clouds; they, who gave a bride to the youthful Vimada, and bore her away in their car, outstripping the rival host.

वीऴुपत्मभिराशुहेमभिर्वा देवानां वा जूतिभिः शाशदाना । तद्रासभो नासत्या सहस्रमाजा यमस्य प्रधने जिगाय ॥

vīḻupatmabhirāśuhemabhirvā devānāṃ vā jūtibhiḥ śāśadānā | tadrāsabho nāsatyā sahasramājā yamasya pradhane jigāya ||

Nāsatyas,borne by strong and rapid (steeds), and (urged) by the encouragements of the gods, the ass of you, thus instrumental gated, overcame a thousand (enemies) in conflict, in the war grateful to Yama.

तुग्रो ह भुज्युमश्विनोदमेघे रयिं न कश्चिन्ममृवाँ अवाहाः । तमूहथुर्नौभिरात्मन्वतीभिरन्तरिक्षप्रुद्भिरपोदकाभिः ॥

tugro ha bhujyumaśvinodameghe rayiṃ na kaścinmamṛvā~ avāhāḥ | tamūhathurnaubhirātmanvatībhirantarikṣaprudbhirapodakābhiḥ ||

Tugra, verily, Aśvins, sent (his son) Bhujyu to sea, as a dying man parts with his riches; but you brought him back in vessels of your own, floating over the ocean, and keeping out the waters.

तिस्रः क्षपस्त्रिरहातिव्रजद्भिर्नासत्या भुज्युमूहथुः पतंगैः । समुद्रस्य धन्वन्नार्द्रस्य पारे त्रिभी रथैः शतपद्भिः षऴश्वैः ॥

tisraḥ kṣapastrirahātivrajadbhirnāsatyā bhujyumūhathuḥ pataṃgaiḥ | samudrasya dhanvannārdrasya pāre tribhī rathaiḥ śatapadbhiḥ ṣaḻaśvaiḥ ||

Threenights, and three days, Nāsatyas, have you conveyed Bhujyu in three rapid, revolving cars, having a hundred wheels, and drawn by six horses, along the dry bed of the ocean to the short of the sea.

अनारम्भणे तदवीरयेथामनास्थाने अग्रभणे समुद्रे । यदश्विना ऊहथुर्भुज्युमस्तं शतारित्रां नावमातस्थिवांसम् ॥

anārambhaṇe tadavīrayethāmanāsthāne agrabhaṇe samudre | yadaśvinā ūhathurbhujyumastaṃ śatāritrāṃ nāvamātasthivāṃsam ||

this exploit you achieved, Aśvins, in the ocean, where there is nothing to give support, nothing to rest upon,nothing to cling to, that you brought Bhujyu, sailing in a hundred-oared ship, to his father's house.

यमश्विना ददथुः श्वेतमश्वमघाश्वाय शश्वदित्स्वस्ति । तद्वां दात्रं महि कीर्तेन्यं भूत्पैद्वो वाजी सदमिद्धव्यो अर्यः ॥

yamaśvinā dadathuḥ śvetamaśvamaghāśvāya śaśvaditsvasti | tadvāṃ dātraṃ mahi kīrtenyaṃ bhūtpaidvo vājī sadamiddhavyo aryaḥ ||

Aśvins, the white horse you gave to Pedu, whose horses were indestrucible, was ever to him success; that, your precious gift, is always to be celebrated; the horse of Pedu, the scatterer (of enemies), is always to be invoked.

युवं नरा स्तुवते पज्रियाय कक्षीवते अरदतं पुरंधिम् । कारोतराच्छफादश्वस्य वृष्णः शतं कुम्भाँ असिञ्चतं सुरायाः ॥

yuvaṃ narā stuvate pajriyāya kakṣīvate aradataṃ puraṃdhim | kārotarācchaphādaśvasya vṛṣṇaḥ śataṃ kumbhā~ asiñcataṃ surāyāḥ ||

You gave, leaders (of sacrifice), to Kakṣīvat, of the race of Pajra, various knowledge; you filled from the hoof of your vigorous steed, as if from a cask, a hundred jars of wine.

हिमेनाग्निं घ्रंसमवारयेथां पितुमतीमूर्जमस्मा अधत्तम् । ऋबीसे अत्रिमश्विनावनीतमुन्निन्यथुः सर्वगणं स्वस्ति ॥

himenāgniṃ ghraṃsamavārayethāṃ pitumatīmūrjamasmā adhattam | ṛbīse atrimaśvināvanītamunninyathuḥ sarvagaṇaṃ svasti ||

You quenched with cold (water) the blazing flames (that encompassed Atri), and supplied him with food-supported strength; you extricated him, Aśvins, from the dark (cavern) into which he had been thrown headlong and restored him to every kind of welfare.

परावतं नासत्यानुदेथामुच्चाबुध्नं चक्रथुर्जिह्मबारम् । क्षरन्नापो न पायनाय राये सहस्राय तृष्यते गोतमस्य ॥

parāvataṃ nāsatyānudethāmuccābudhnaṃ cakrathurjihmabāram | kṣarannāpo na pāyanāya rāye sahasrāya tṛṣyate gotamasya ||

Nāsatyas, you raised up the well, and made th ebase, which had been turned upwards, the curved mouth, so that the water issued for the beverage of the thirsty Gotama, the offerer.

जुजुरुषो नासत्योत वव्रिं प्रामुञ्चतं द्रापिमिव च्यवानात् । प्रातिरतं जहितस्यायुर्दस्रादित्पतिमकृणुतं कनीनाम् ॥

jujuruṣo nāsatyota vavriṃ prāmuñcataṃ drāpimiva cyavānāt | prātirataṃ jahitasyāyurdasrāditpatimakṛṇutaṃ kanīnām ||

Nāsatyas, you stripped off from the aged Cyavana his entire skin, as if it had been a coat of mail; you reversed, Dasras, the life of the sage who was without kindred, and constituted him the husband of many maidens.

तद्वां नरा शंस्यं राध्यं चाभिष्टिमन्नासत्या वरूथम् । यद्विद्वांसा निधिमिवापगूऴ्हमुद्दर्शतादूपथुर्वन्दनाय ॥

tadvāṃ narā śaṃsyaṃ rādhyaṃ cābhiṣṭimannāsatyā varūtham | yadvidvāṃsā nidhimivāpagūḻhamuddarśatādūpathurvandanāya ||

Nāsatyas, leaders, glorious was that exploit of yours, one to be celebrated, to be adored, to be desired by us, when, becoming aware (of the circumstance), you extricated Vandanā, (hidden), like a concealed treasure, from the (well) that was visible (to travellers).

तद्वां नरा सनये दंस उग्रमाविष्कृणोमि तन्यतुर्न वृष्टिम् । दध्यङ्ह यन्मध्वाथर्वणो वामश्वस्य शीर्ष्णा प्र यदीमुवाच ॥

tadvāṃ narā sanaye daṃsa ugramāviṣkṛṇomi tanyaturna vṛṣṭim | dadhyaṅha yanmadhvātharvaṇo vāmaśvasya śīrṣṇā pra yadīmuvāca ||

I proclaim, leadeers (of sacriifce), for the skae of acquiring wealth, that inimitable deed which you performed, as the thunder (announces) rain, when provided by you with the head of a horse. Dadhyañc, the son of Atharvan, taught you the mystic science.

अजोहवीन्नासत्या करा वां महे यामन्पुरुभुजा पुरंधिः । श्रुतं तच्छासुरिव वध्रिमत्या हिरण्यहस्तमश्विनावदत्तम् ॥

ajohavīnnāsatyā karā vāṃ mahe yāmanpurubhujā puraṃdhiḥ | śrutaṃ tacchāsuriva vadhrimatyā hiraṇyahastamaśvināvadattam ||

The intelligent (Vadhrimati) invoked you. Nāsatyas, who are the accom;ishers (of desires) and the protectors of many, with a sacred hymn; her prayer was heard, like (the instrumental uction of) a teacher, and you, Aśvins, gave to the wife of an impotent husband, Hiraṇyahasta, her son.

आस्नो वृकस्य वर्तिकामभीके युवं नरा नासत्यामुमुक्तम् । उतो कविं पुरुभुजा युवं ह कृपमाणमकृणुतं विचक्षे ॥

āsno vṛkasya vartikāmabhīke yuvaṃ narā nāsatyāmumuktam | uto kaviṃ purubhujā yuvaṃ ha kṛpamāṇamakṛṇutaṃ vicakṣe ||

Nāsatyas, leaders, you liberated the quail from the mouth of the dog that had seized her, and you, who are the benefactors of many, have granted to the sage who praises you, to behold (true wisdom).

चरित्रं हि वेरिवाच्छेदि पर्णमाजा खेलस्य परितक्म्यायाम् । सद्यो जङ्घामायसीं विश्पलायै धने हिते सर्तवे प्रत्यधत्तम् ॥

caritraṃ hi verivācchedi parṇamājā khelasya paritakmyāyām | sadyo jaṅghāmāyasīṃ viśpalāyai dhane hite sartave pratyadhattam ||

The foot of (Vispalā, the wife of) Khela, was cut off, like the wing of a bird, in an engagement by night; immediately you gave her a metallic leg, that she might walk, the hidden treasure (of the enemy being the object of the conflict).

शतं मेषान्वृक्ये चक्षदानमृज्राश्वं तं पितान्धं चकार । तस्मा अक्षी नासत्या विचक्ष आधत्तं दस्रा भिषजावनर्वन् ॥

śataṃ meṣānvṛkye cakṣadānamṛjrāśvaṃ taṃ pitāndhaṃ cakāra | tasmā akṣī nāsatyā vicakṣa ādhattaṃ dasrā bhiṣajāvanarvan ||

When his father caused,Ṛjrāśvā, as he was giving to a she-wolf a hundred sheep cut up in pieces, to become blind, you, Dasras, physicians (of the gods), gave him eyes (that had been) unable to find their way, with which he might see.

आ वां रथं दुहिता सूर्यस्य कार्ष्मेवातिष्ठदर्वता जयन्ती । विश्वे देवा अन्वमन्यन्त हृद्भिः समु श्रिया नासत्या सचेथे ॥

ā vāṃ rathaṃ duhitā sūryasya kārṣmevātiṣṭhadarvatā jayantī | viśve devā anvamanyanta hṛdbhiḥ samu śriyā nāsatyā sacethe ||

The daughter of the sun ascended your car, (like a runner) to a goal; when you won (the race) with your swift horse, all the gods looked on with (anxious hearts), and you, Nāsatyas, were associated with glory.

यदयातं दिवोदासाय वर्तिर्भरद्वाजायाश्विना हयन्ता । रेवदुवाह सचनो रथो वां वृषभश्च शिंशुमारश्च युक्ता ॥

yadayātaṃ divodāsāya vartirbharadvājāyāśvinā hayantā | revaduvāha sacano ratho vāṃ vṛṣabhaśca śiṃśumāraśca yuktā ||

When, Aśvins, being invited, you went to his dwelling (to give due rewards) to Divodāsa, offering oblations, then your helping chariot conveyed (food and) treasure, and the bull and the porpoise were yoked together.

रयिं सुक्षत्रं स्वपत्यमायुः सुवीर्यं नासत्या वहन्ता । आ जह्नावीं समनसोप वाजैस्त्रिरह्नो भागं दधतीमयातम् ॥

rayiṃ sukṣatraṃ svapatyamāyuḥ suvīryaṃ nāsatyā vahantā | ā jahnāvīṃ samanasopa vājaistrirahno bhāgaṃ dadhatīmayātam ||

Nāsatyas, bearing strength and wealth with posterity and vigour-sustaining food, you came, with one intention, to the family of Jahnu, (provide) with (sacrificial) viands, and possessing a third portion of the daily (offerings).

परिविष्टं जाहुषं विश्वतः सीं सुगेभिर्नक्तमूहथू रजोभिः । विभिन्दुना नासत्या रथेन वि पर्वताँ अजरयू अयातम् ॥

pariviṣṭaṃ jāhuṣaṃ viśvataḥ sīṃ sugebhirnaktamūhathū rajobhiḥ | vibhindunā nāsatyā rathena vi parvatā~ ajarayū ayātam ||

Undecaying Nāsatyas, you bore away by night, in your foe-overwhelming car, Jāhuṣa, surrounded on every side by (enemies), through practicable roads, and went to (inaccessible) mountains.

एकस्या वस्तोरावतं रणाय वशमश्विना सनये सहस्रा । निरहतं दुच्छुना इन्द्रवन्ता पृथुश्रवसो वृषणावरातीः ॥

ekasyā vastorāvataṃ raṇāya vaśamaśvinā sanaye sahasrā | nirahataṃ ducchunā indravantā pṛthuśravaso vṛṣaṇāvarātīḥ ||

You preserved Vaśa, Aśvins, (that he might obtain) in a single day a thousand acceptable gifts; showerers (of benefits), associated with Indra, you destroyed the malignant enemies of Pṛthuśravas.

शरस्य चिदार्चत्कस्यावतादा नीचादुच्चा चक्रथुः पातवे वाः । शयवे चिन्नासत्या शचीभिर्जसुरये स्तर्यं पिप्यथुर्गाम् ॥

śarasya cidārcatkasyāvatādā nīcāduccā cakrathuḥ pātave vāḥ | śayave cinnāsatyā śacībhirjasuraye staryaṃ pipyathurgām ||

You raised the water from the bottom to the top of the well, for the drinking of Śara, the son of Ṛcitka, and by your powers, Nāsatyas, you filled, for the sake of the weary Śayu, the barren cow (with milk).

अवस्यते स्तुवते कृष्णियाय ऋजूयते नासत्या शचीभिः । पशुं न नष्टमिव दर्शनाय विष्णाप्वं ददथुर्विश्वकाय ॥

avasyate stuvate kṛṣṇiyāya ṛjūyate nāsatyā śacībhiḥ | paśuṃ na naṣṭamiva darśanāya viṣṇāpvaṃ dadathurviśvakāya ||

Nāsatyas, by your acts you restored to Viśvaka, the son of Kṛṣṇa, soliciting your protection, adoring you, and a lover of rectitude, hs son Viṣṇāpu, (welcome) to his sight as an animal that has been lost.

दश रात्रीरशिवेना नव द्यूनवनद्धं श्नथितमप्स्वन्तः । विप्रुतं रेभमुदनि प्रवृक्तमुन्निन्यथुः सोममिव स्रुवेण ॥

daśa rātrīraśivenā nava dyūnavanaddhaṃ śnathitamapsvantaḥ | viprutaṃ rebhamudani pravṛktamunninyathuḥ somamiva sruveṇa ||

Aśvins, you raised up, like Soma in a ladle, Rebha, who for ten nights and nine days, had lain (in a well), bound with tight bonds, wounded, immersed, and suffering distress form the water.

प्र वां दंसांस्यश्विनाववोचमस्य पतिः स्यां सुगवः सुवीरः । उत पश्यन्नश्नुवन्दीर्घमायुरस्तमिवेज्जरिमाणं जगम्याम् ॥

pra vāṃ daṃsāṃsyaśvināvavocamasya patiḥ syāṃ sugavaḥ suvīraḥ | uta paśyannaśnuvandīrghamāyurastamivejjarimāṇaṃ jagamyām ||

Thus, Aśvins, have I declared your exploits; may I become the master (of this plural ce), having abundant cattle and a numerous progeny, and retaining my sight, and enjoying a long life; may I enter into old age, as (a master enters) his house.
