वि ह्यख्यं मनसा वस्य इच्छन्निन्द्राग्नी ज्ञास उत वा सजातान् । नान्या युवत्प्रमतिरस्ति मह्यं स वां धियं वाजयन्तीमतक्षम् ॥

vi hyakhyaṃ manasā vasya icchannindrāgnī jñāsa uta vā sajātān | nānyā yuvatpramatirasti mahyaṃ sa vāṃ dhiyaṃ vājayantīmatakṣam ||

Indra and Agni, desirous of wealth, I consider you, in my mind, as kinsmen and relations; the clear understanding you have given me, (is given) by no one else, and (so gifted), I have composed this hymn to you, intimating my wish for sustenance.

अश्रवं हि भूरिदावत्तरा वां विजामातुरुत वा घा स्यालात् । अथा सोमस्य प्रयती युवभ्यामिन्द्राग्नी स्तोमं जनयामि नव्यम् ॥

aśravaṃ hi bhūridāvattarā vāṃ vijāmāturuta vā ghā syālāt | athā somasya prayatī yuvabhyāmindrāgnī stomaṃ janayāmi navyam ||

I have heard, Indra and Agni, that you are more munificent givers than an unworthy bridegroom, or the brother of a bride; therefore, as I offer you a Soma libation, I address you, Indra and Agni, with a new hymn.

मा च्छेद्म रश्मीँरिति नाधमानाः पितॄणां शक्तीरनुयच्छमानाः । इन्द्राग्निभ्यां कं वृषणो मदन्ति ता ह्यद्री धिषणाया उपस्थे ॥

mā cchedma raśmī~riti nādhamānāḥ pitṝṇāṃ śaktīranuyacchamānāḥ | indrāgnibhyāṃ kaṃ vṛṣaṇo madanti tā hyadrī dhiṣaṇāyā upasthe ||

Never may we cut off the long line (of posterity); thus soliciting and asking for descendants endowed with the vigour of their progenitors, the (worshippers), begetting children, praise Indra and Agni for their happiness, and they two, destroyers of foes, are nigh (to hear this adoration).

युवाभ्यां देवी धिषणा मदायेन्द्राग्नी सोममुशती सुनोति । तावश्विना भद्रहस्ता सुपाणी आ धावतं मधुना पृङ्क्तमप्सु ॥

yuvābhyāṃ devī dhiṣaṇā madāyendrāgnī somamuśatī sunoti | tāvaśvinā bhadrahastā supāṇī ā dhāvataṃ madhunā pṛṅktamapsu ||

The sacred prayer, desiring your presence, offers to you both, Indra and Agni, for your exhilaration, the Soma libation; do you two, who have horses, handsome arms, and graceful hands, come quickly and mix (the libation) with sweetness in the waters.

युवामिन्द्राग्नी वसुनो विभागे तवस्तमा शुश्रव वृत्रहत्ये । तावासद्या बर्हिषि यज्ञे अस्मिन्प्र चर्षणी मादयेथां सुतस्य ॥

yuvāmindrāgnī vasuno vibhāge tavastamā śuśrava vṛtrahatye | tāvāsadyā barhiṣi yajñe asminpra carṣaṇī mādayethāṃ sutasya ||

I have heard, (when you were present) at the division of the treasure (among the worshippers), that you two, Indra and Agni, were most vigorous in the destruction of Vṛtra; beholders of all things seated at this sacrifice upon the sacred grass, be exhilarated, (by drinking of the effused libation).

प्र चर्षणिभ्यः पृतनाहवेषु प्र पृथिव्या रिरिचाथे दिवश्च । प्र सिन्धुभ्यः प्र गिरिभ्यो महित्वा प्रेन्द्राग्नी विश्वा भुवनात्यन्या ॥

pra carṣaṇibhyaḥ pṛtanāhaveṣu pra pṛthivyā riricāthe divaśca | pra sindhubhyaḥ pra giribhyo mahitvā prendrāgnī viśvā bhuvanātyanyā ||

Attending to the summons at the time of battle, you surpass all me (in magnitude); you are vaster than the earth, than the sky, than the rivers, than the mountains; you exceed all other existent things.

आ भरतं शिक्षतं वज्रबाहू अस्माँ इन्द्राग्नी अवतं शचीभिः । इमे नु ते रश्मयः सूर्यस्य येभिः सपित्वं पितरो न आसन् ॥

ā bharataṃ śikṣataṃ vajrabāhū asmā~ indrāgnī avataṃ śacībhiḥ | ime nu te raśmayaḥ sūryasya yebhiḥ sapitvaṃ pitaro na āsan ||

Bring wealth, thunderers, and give it to us; protect us, Indra and Agni, by your deeds; may those rays of the sun, by which our forefathers have attained together a hevenly region, shine also upon us.

पुरंदरा शिक्षतं वज्रहस्तास्माँ इन्द्राग्नी अवतं भरेषु । तन्नो मित्रो वरुणो मामहन्तामदितिः सिन्धुः पृथिवी उत द्यौः ॥

puraṃdarā śikṣataṃ vajrahastāsmā~ indrāgnī avataṃ bhareṣu | tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyauḥ ||

Indra and Agni, wielders of the thunderbolt, overturners of cities, grant us wealth, defens us in battles; and may Mitra, Varuṇa, Aditi--ocean, earth and heaven, be propitious to this (our prayer).
