शची

Daughter of पुलोमा and wife of इन्द्र . The following information about शची is gathered from the महाभारत .
It was from an aspect of शची that पाञ्चाली , daughter of King Drupada was born. [mh-1-67-157 ] .
शची is seated on the best throne in the assembly of देवस् in the court of इन्द्र . [mh-2-7-4 ] .
She worships ब्रह्मा also in his court. [mh-2-11-42 ] .
It was शचीदेवी , queen of इन्द्र , who took श्री कृष्ण and सत्यभामा , during their visit to देवलोक to the देवमाता . (mother of Devas). [mh-2-38-1 ] .
When इन्द्र , afflicted by ब्रह्महत्या , hid himself away from देवलोक शचीदेवी was kept under the protection of बृहस्पति . [mh-5-11-20 ] .
While he was made Indra, नहुष wanted to take शची for wife and she tried hard not to fall into his clutches. (See under Nahuṣa) .
शची was present at the birth of सुब्रह्मण्य . [mh-9-45-13 ] .
