Grandson of ध्रुव . Two sons called शिष्टि and भव्य were born to ध्रुव by his wife शम्भू . शिष्टि 's wife सुच्छाया delivered five sons, i.e. रिपु , रिपुञ्जय , विप्र , वृकल and वृकतेजस् . चाक्षुष मनु was born as the son of रिपु by his wife बृहती . (Viṣṇu Purāṇa, Part 1, Chapter 13) .
