A demon of ऋग्वेदिच् times. He had two friends named करञ्जय and वङ्गृद . They attacked the two Kings belonging to the group of आर्यस् named अतिथिश्वा and ऋजिश्वा . The asuras were defeated because of the help sent to the kings by इन्द्र . (Sūkta 54, Anuvāka 10, Maṇḍala 1, Ṛgveda) .
