Common name for the five तीर्थस् , that is अगस्त्य तीर्थ , सौभद्रतीर्थ , पौलोमतीर्थ , कारन्धमतीर्थ and भरद्वाजतीर्थ . Once अर्जुन bathed in भरद्वाजतीर्थ . The अप्सरा women called वर्गास् were living in the five तीर्थस् in the form of crocodiles as the result of a curse. With the arrival of अर्जुन there, the crocodiles resumed their previous forms as अप्सरा women and returned to देवलोक . (For the curse etc. see under Vargā)
