It is stated in वाल्मीकि रामायण , अयोध्याकाण्ड that while श्री राम had been leading forest life, भरत lived in नन्दिग्राम for twelve years worshipping the sandals of श्री राम . This नन्दिग्राम is situated nearly fourteen miles away from अयोध्या . (Faizabad)
