इन्द्र , the wielder of the thunderbolt and favorite of सोम , is earnestly invoked to partake in sacrifices and libations. Praised as the slayer of वृत्र , the mighty इन्द्र is beseeched to grant ample wealth, avoid reproach, and be favorably disposed toward his devotees. His long-maned steeds are requested to bring him swiftly to their presence, enhancing the sacrificial rites rv-3-41 .
